Discus Throw
The discus throw (), also known as disc throw, is a track and field event in which an athlete throws a heavy disk (mathematics), disc—called a discus—in an attempt to mark a farther distance than their competitors. It is an classical antiquity, ancient sport, as demonstrated by the fifth-century-BC Myron statue ''Discobolus''. Although not part of the current pentathlon, it was one of the events of the Ancient Olympic pentathlon, ancient Greek pentathlon, which can be dated back to at least 708 BC, and it is part of the modern decathlon. History The sport of throwing the discus traces back to it being an event in the Ancient Olympic Games, original Olympic Games of Ancient Greece. The discus as a sport was resurrected in Magdeburg, Germany, by gymnastics teacher Christian Georg Kohlrausch and his students in the 1870s. Khusniddin Norbekov
Khusniddin Norbekov (born 23 May 1987) is a Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. He is a Paralympic champion in both the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, 2020 Summer Paralympic Games. He holds three world championships titles in para-athletics and is a two-time champion of the recent Paralympic Games. Hou Zhanbiao
Hou Zhanbiao (born 1 September 1986) is a Paralympian athlete from China competing mainly in F46 classification throwing events. Athletics history Hou represented China at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, entering the shot put (T46) event. He won the silver medal recording a distance of 15.57 metres. As well as the Paralympics Hou has also been part of two Chinese teams to compete at the IPC Athletics World Championships, in 2011 in Christchurch and 2015 in Doha. He finished fourth in the discus in 2011, but won gold in the same event in 2015, setting a new world record of 52.64 metres. At Doha he also entered the javelin (9th) and shot put (4th) events. T46 (classification)
T46 and F46 are disability sport classification for disability athletics. People in this class have a single below or above the elbow amputation. The amputee sports equivalent class is ISOD the A6 and A8 classes. People in this class can have injuries as a result of over use of their remaining upper limb. The classification process to be included in this class has four parts: a medical exam, observation during training, observation during competition and then being classified into this class. Definition This classification is for disability athletics. T46 is for track events and F46 is for field events. This classification is one of several classifications for athletes with ambulant related disabilities. Similar classifications are T40, T42, T43, T44, T45 and T47. Akeem Stewart (born 4 July 1992) is a Trinidad and Tobago Paralympic athlete competing in F43/ F44-classification discus throw, javelin throw and shot put events. Stewart represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F44 event and the silver medal in the men's discus throw F44 event. T44 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics, applying to "Single below knee amputation or an athlete who can walk with moderately reduced function in one or both legs." Aled Davies (field Athlete)
Aled Siôn Davies (born 24 May 1991) is a Welsh Paralympian athlete competing mainly in category F42 throwing events. In 2012 he became the world record holder of the F42 shot put and in the 2012 Summer Paralympics he took the bronze medal in shot put and gold in the discus. In 2013 Davies took the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus in Lyon. He won double gold in his home country at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in the shot put and discus. This followed his silver medal in the F42-44 discus from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he represented Wales.
