2015 FIM Motocross World Championship
The 2015 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 59th F.I.M. Motocross World Championship season. It included 18 events, starting at Losail in Qatar on 28 February, and ending at San Bernardino, California in the United States on 20 September. In the main MXGP class, Tony Cairoli was the six-time defending champion, and entered the 2015 season looking to score a record seventh consecutive premier class title, for Red Bull KTM. In the MX2 class, Jordi Tixier was the defending champion, after taking the title in the final race of the 2014 season, also for Red Bull KTM. Tixier defends his title with Team Monster Energy Kawasaki. Race calendar and results An 18-round calendar for the 2015 season was announced on 10 October 2014. In February 2015, it was announced that the Brazilian event – scheduled to be held on 16 August in Trindade – had been cancelled due to financial and political issues. Motocross World Championship
FIM Motocross World Championship is the premier championship of motocross racing, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), divided into two distinct classes: MXGP and MX2. Race duration is 30 minutes plus two laps per race. The series runs 18 events with two races per class at each round. History The FIM Motocross World Championship is a worldwide motocross series sanctioned by the F.I.M. It was inaugurated in 1957 using a 500 cc engine displacement formula. In 1962 a 250cc class was added and in 1975, a 125cc class was introduced. Prior to 1957, the championship was known as the European Championship. In 2004, the F.I.M. changed the displacement formulas to reflect the changes in engine technology and as a move towards environmentally friendlier four-stroke engines. Valkenswaard () is a municipality and a town in the southern Netherlands, in the Metropoolregio Eindhoven of the province of North Brabant. Shaun Simpson (motorcyclist)
Shaun Simpson (born 13 March 1988) is a Scottish professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2004. Simpson has won two British motocross championships (2008 and 2014), a Belgian Championship (2011) and has represented Great Britain four times at the prestigious Motocross des Nations. Motocross career Simpson was born in Gauldry, Fife, Scotland and educated at Madras College secondary school. In 2010, Simpson competed for the KTM factory racing team managed by former world champion Stefan Everts in the F.I.M. MX2-GP World Championships. He finished in 8th place with three podium finishes. Loket (; german: Elbogen) is a town of in Sokolov District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,100 inhabitants. The town centre itself features Loket Castle, a 12th-century Gothic castle. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as urban monument reservation. Glenn Coldenhoff (born 13 February 1991) is a Dutch professional motocross racer. He has competed in the Motocross World Championships since 2013. Coldenhoff was a member of the winning Dutch team at the 2019 Motocross des Nations. Motocross career Coldenhoff was born in Oss on 13 February 1991. He lives in Heesch, Netherlands. Coldenhoff in 2015 rode for the Suzuki racing team. He switched to the Red Bull KTM racing team for 2016. He won his first MXGP race on 12 July 2015 in Ķegums, Latvia. Kevin Strijbos (born 13 August 1985 in Geel) is a Belgian former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 2000 until 2021. Strijbos was the 1999 85cc motocross world champion and, in 2001 he won the 125cc European motocross championship. In 2006, Strijbos finished second in the world championship behind Stefan Everts.
