2015 Ebonyi State Gubernatorial Election
The 2015 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election was the 5th gubernatorial election of Ebonyi State. Held on April 11, 2015, the People's Democratic Party nominee Dave Umahi won the election, defeating Edward Nkwegu of the Labour Party. PDP primary The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi defeated 7 other contestants to clinch the party ticket. He won with 541 votes. Other contestants in the primary were Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, Aja Nwachukwu, Offia Nwali, Paul Okorie, Hycinth Ikpo, Michael Ude Udumanta and Onyebuchi Chukwu, who was absent. 592 delegates voted in the election. Dave Umahi
David Nweze Umahi CON (born July 25, 1964) better known as Dave Umahi is a Nigerian politician who is currently serving as the Governor of Ebonyi State. Early life and education Umahi was born 25 July 1964. He is the son of Elder Joseph Umahi Nwaze and Margaret Umahi of Umunaga, Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area, now in Ebonyi State. Umahi received his secondary education from Ishiagu High School and the Government Secondary School of Afikpo before entering the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1982. He graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. In 1990, he co-founded Norman Engineering and Construction Nig. Martin Elechi
Martin Elechi is a Nigerian economist and politician. He served as the Governor of Ebonyi State from 2007 to 2015. He ran in the 2007 Nigerian general election on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and assumed the position on May 29, 2007, succeeding Sam Egwu. 2019 Ebonyi State Gubernatorial Election
The 2019 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. Incumbent PDP Governor Dave Umahi won re-election for a second term, defeating APC Sonni Ogbuoji and several minor party candidates. Dave Umahi emerged PDP gubernatorial candidate unopposed. Ebonyi State ( ig, Ȯra Ebonyi) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by Benue State, Enugu State to the west, Cross River State to the east and southeast, and Abia State to the southwest. Onyebuchi Chukwu (born 22 April 1962) is a Nigerian politician who served as Minister of Health from 2010 until 2014. Early life and education Chukwu was born in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. All Progressives Congress
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) is a political party in Nigeria. The party won gubernatorial elections in 2003 and 2007 in Abia State.
