Connecticut Huskies Men's Soccer
The UConn Huskies men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of Connecticut. The team is a member of the Big East Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). History Connecticut soccer existed prior to 1969, but was not considered a major sport and did not even have a real stadium. However, in 1969, Joe Morrone was hired as head coach, and made significant changes that would make the Huskies a premiere program. He started by building Connecticut Soccer Stadium, which now bears his name as Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Eventually, in Morrone's words, the team became "the Notre Dame of college soccer". Morrone would ultimately coach the team until he retired in 1994. In 1981, the Huskies won their first NCAA-sanctioned College Cup, defeating Alabama A&M 2–1 in overtime at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California. 2015 Louisville Cardinals Men's Soccer Team
The Louisville Cardinals men's soccer team represents the University of Louisville in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team presently competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team currently plays in the soccer-specific Lynn Stadium on the campus. Overview Nearly all of the Cardinals success has come in the last ten years of play under the helm of Ken Lolla. The Cardinals first qualified for the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship in 2007, and have appeared in every NCAA Tournament since then except 2015. Westcott Field is a stadium in University Park, Texas (an enclave of Dallas, Texas, Dallas) on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The 4,000-seat stadium is home to SMU SMU Mustangs men's soccer, men's and women's soccer. The SMU Mustangs men's soccer team represents Southern Methodist University in men's college soccer. The team currently competes in The American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs made their most recent appearance in the NCAA National Tournament in 2019, their third consecutive tournament appearance and fourth in five seasons. The South Florida Bulls men's soccer team represents the University of South Florida in the sport of soccer. The Bulls currently compete in the American Athletic Conference (The American) within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). USF plays in Corbett Stadium, which opened in 2011 and is also used by the USF women's soccer team.
