2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final
The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final decided the winners of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. It was held on July 26, 2015, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and contested by Jamaica and Mexico. It was Jamaica's first final of a CONCACAF championship, and Mexico's 12th; they won a record 10th with a 3–1 victory. It was also the first Gold Cup Final since 2003 not to feature the United States. Mexico advanced to a one-match play-off, which was held on October 10, 2015, against the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup winners, the United States, for the opportunity to represent CONCACAF in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. Lincoln Financial Field
Lincoln Financial Field is an American football stadium located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It serves as the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) and the Temple Owls football team of Temple University. It is located in South Philadelphia on Pattison Avenue between 11th and South Darien streets, also alongside I-95 as part of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. It has a seating capacity of 69,896. The stadium opened on August 3, 2003 after two years of construction that began on May 7, 2001, replacing Veterans Stadium. While total seating capacity is similar to that of "The Vet", the new stadium contains double the number of luxury and wheelchair-accessible seats, along with more modern services. 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Knockout Stage
The knockout stage of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup began on 18 July 2015 and ended with the Final on 26 July 2015, to decide the champions of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. A total of eight teams competed in the knockout stage. Qualified teams The top two placed teams from each of the three groups, plus the two best-placed third teams, qualified for the knockout stage. Bracket In the knockout stage, the eight teams played a single-elimination tournament, with the following rules: *In the quarter-finals, teams from the same group could not play each other. *In all matches, if tied after 90 minutes, 30 minutes of extra time were played. Je-Vaughn Tidley Watson (born 22 October 1983) is a Jamaican footballer. Career Club Sporting Central Academy Watson attended Garvey Maceo High School and turned professional in 2005. He spent six years playing with Sporting Central Academy in the Jamaica National Premier League, eventually becoming the club's captain. Garath James McCleary (born 15 May 1987) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Wycombe Wanderers. Born in England, he represented the Jamaica national team. Club career Early career McCleary was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire. Michael Anthony James Hector (born 19 July 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Charlton Athletic. Born in England, he represents the Jamaica national team. Adrian Joseph Mariappa (born 3 October 1986) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Salford City. Born in England, he represents the Jamaica national team. Oribe Peralta Morones (born 12 January 1984) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is an Olympic gold medalist.
