2015 Belarusian First League
The 2015 Belarusian First League is the 25th season of 2nd level football in Belarus. It started in April and finished in November 2015. Team changes from 2014 season Two best teams of 2014 Belarusian First League ( Granit Mikashevichi and Slavia Mozyr) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. No team has relegated from Premier League directly due to its expansion from 12 to 14 clubs. Last season's third-placed team Vitebsk won the promotion/relegation play-offs against Dnepr Mogilev (last team of Premier League) and were also promoted to Premier League. Dnepr Mogilev replaced Vitebsk in the First League Volna Pinsk, who finished 16th last year, relegated to the Second League. To compensate for Premier League expansion, they were replaced by three best teams of 2014 Second League (Baranovichi, Krumkachy Minsk and Orsha). Belarusian First League
The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). On several occasions the number of participating teams was smaller (15 or 14), due to last minute withdrawals and no teams available for replacement. In most of the seasons, two best teams are getting promoted to Belarusian Premier League, while two worst teams are relegated Belarusian Second League. Slonim-2017 is a Belarusian football club based in Slonim, Grodno Region. History The team was founded in 2013 as a result of merger between Beltransgaz Slonim and Kommunalnik Slonim. The new team is considered a successor to Beltransgaz. It inherited entire Beltransgaz squad with addition of a few Kommunalnik players, as well as Beltransgaz training facilities and a stadium previously shared by both teams. FC Smolevichi ( be, ФК Смалявічы, russian: ФК Смолевичи), is a Belarusian football club based in Smolevichi, Minsk Oblast. History The team was founded in 2009 as Vigvam Smolevichi. The same year, they debuted in the Minsk Oblast championship. In 2010, they joined the Belarusian Second League. They were renamed to Smolevichi in 2011 and to Smolevichi-STI in 2012. Smolevichi-STI won the 2012 Second League season, and have been playing in the First League since 2013. FC Bereza-2010 (or Byaroza-2010) was a Belarusian association football, football club based in Byaroza, Brest Oblast. History The team was founded in 1989 as ''Stroitel Bereza''. They played in Belarusian SSR league from 1989 to 1991. In 1992, they joined newly created Belarusian Second League. After successful 1995 season they were promoted to the Belarusian First League, First League. Before the start of 1997 season they were renamed to ''FC Bereza''. In between 1998 and 1999 seasons Bereza merged with the local Second League FC Keramik Bereza (defunct), club from the same town and adopted their name ''Keramik Bereza'', while maintaining their own history. FC Zhlobin is a Belarusian football club based in Zhlobin, Gomel Oblast. History The team was founded in 1994 as Energiya Zhlobin. They played in Belarusian Second League for three seasons, and at the end of 1996 the club was folded. In 2003 the club was reformed as Kommunalnik Zhlobin. FC Kobrin ( be, Футбольны клуб Кобрын) is a Belarusian football club based in Kobrin, Brest Oblast. History FC Kobrin was founded in 1992 in the city of Brest as Brestbytkhim Brest. The team made its debut in Belarusian Second League in 1992–93 season, and after winning the league from the first attempt they were promoted to the First League. In 1996, the team relocated to its current location in Kobrin, Brest Voblast. In early 1997 the team withdrew to the amateur level due to financial troubles. Minsk-2 was a Belarusian football club based in Minsk and was a reserve team of FC Minsk. History The team was formed in 1954 as FShM Minsk (''Futbolnaya Shkhola Molodyozhi'', or ''Football School of Youth'') and was essentially a student team. During Soviet years, they spent the most of their seasons playing only in youth competitions, although they also spent several seasons in senior Belarusian SSR league. They adopted name Smena Minsk in 1989. In 1992 Smena joined newly created Belarusian Second League.
