2015 African Youth Athletics Championships
The 2015 African Youth Athletics Championships was the second edition of the biennial Athletics (sport), athletics competition for African athletes aged fifteen to seventeen, It was held in Réduit, Moka, Reduit, Mauritius from 23–26 April. Mauritius had hosted the 2013 African Junior Athletics Championships two years earlier. A total of 38 events, 18 by boys and 20 by girls, were contested at the competition. South Africa topped the medals table with seventeen gold medals and 29 medals overall. This marked a great improvement from the inaugural edition in 2013, having missed that event due to a lack of funding. Nigeria who were the previous host only managed to confirm participation due to a late intervention by an anonymous sponsor. Réduit, Moka
Moka () is a village in Mauritius located in the Moka District, the western part of the village also lies in the Plaines Wilhems District. Since 1967 it forms part of Constituencies of Mauritius, Constituency No. 8 Quartier Militaire and Moka. The village is administered by the Moka Village Council under the aegis of the Moka District Council. According to the census made by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 8,846. The elevation is 203 meters and can be up to 425 meters in some places. Moka is directly on the other side of the Moka Range from Port Louis. In 2015, he won the silver medal in the boys' 3000 metres at the 2015 African Youth Athletics Championships held in Reduit, Mauritius.
