2014–15 Vijay Hazare Trophy
2014–15 Vijay Hazare Trophy was the 13th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 27 domestic cricket teams of India. Karnataka successfully defended the title after beating Punjab by 156 runs in the final. Format The teams are divided across five zonal groups: Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone, South Zone and West Zone. The top two teams from Central Zone, East Zone and South Zone advance directly to the quarterfinals. The top two teams from each of North Zone and West Zone play in the pre-quarterfinals to determine which two teams advance to the quarterfinals. The winner of the knockout tree is declared winner of the tournament. The Himachal Pradesh cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It has competed in the Ranji Trophy since the 1985–86 season. They have won their first ever domestic trophy, by winning the 2021–22 edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Tripura cricket team is a domestic cricket team representing the Indian state of Tripura. History Cricket developed later in Tripura than in most other parts of India with competitions first organized in the early 1960s, and the Tripura Cricket Association forming in 1968. Tripura entered the Ranji Trophy, along with Goa and Himachal Pradesh, when the competition was expanded for the 1985–86 season. They have always been one of the weaker sides in the competition.
