2014–15 Ram Slam T20 Challenge
The 2014–15 Ram Slam T20 Challenge was the twelfth season of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge, established by the Cricket South Africa. The tournament was played between 2 November and 12 December 2014. The Cape Cobras beat the Knights in the final by 33 runs to win the tournament for the thirds time. Venues The first round of matches were all played on 2 November in Johannesburg. Rules and regulations The tournament is divided into a group stage and a knockout stage. In the group stage, teams face each other in a double round-robin tournament (i.e. each team plays every other team twice, once at home and once away). At the end of the group stage, the top team qualifies for the final. The teams in second and third take part in a play-off match with the winners contesting the final. If a match in the knockout stage ends with a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner. Cricket South Africa
Cricket South Africa aka CSA is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa, ending racial separation governance in South African cricket. Centurion, Gauteng
Centurion (previously known as Verwoerdburg and before that Lyttelton) is an area with 236,580 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, between Pretoria and Midrand. Senwes Park
JB Marks Oval is a cricket ground in Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa. It has hosted two Test matches, with the first in 2002. The Highveld Lions also play some home matches here. The stadium is home to AFL South Africa – the Australian rules football body responsible for developing the game in that country – as well as the South African national Australian rules football team, the ''Lions''. On 29 October 2017, the venue hosted its first T20I match for South Africa against Bangladesh, which was the 100th T20I for South Africa. Highveld Lions Cricket Team
The DP World Lions is a professional cricket team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The home venue is the DP World Wanderers Stadium which is situated in Illovo Sandton on Corlett Drive. The team plays in the CSA 4-Day Series first class cricket competition as well as in the Momentum 1 Day Cup, CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out Competition and CSA T20 Challenge limited over competitions. Wanderers Stadium
The Wanderers Stadium, also known as the Bullring due to its intimidating atmosphere, is a cricket stadium situated just south of Sandton in Illovo, Johannesburg in Gauteng, South Africa. Test, One Day and First class cricket matches are played here. It is the home ground for the Imperial Lions and the Joburg Super Kings. History The stadium has a seating capacity of 34,000, and was built in 1956 to replace the Old Wanderers Stadium. De Beers Diamond Oval
The De Beers Diamond Oval is a cricket stadium in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa. It opened in 1973 and has a capacity of 11,000. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches and is the home venue of both the Knights (cricket team), VKB Knights, in the Sunfoil Series, and Northern Cape cricket team, Northern Cape (formerly Griqualand West), in the CSA Provincial Competitions. Griqualand West left the old De Beers Stadium ahead of the 1973–74 season and have been resident at the Diamond Oval since then. The ITEC Knights are a Division 2 cricket team representing the province of Free State in South African domestic competitions. The Knights take part in the CSA 4-Day Series first-class competition, the Momentum One-Day Cup and the Mzansi Super League T20 competition. The team's home venue is the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. History The Knights were originally established as an entirely professional franchise team following reforms that were carried out to the South African domestic leagues in 2004-05. Mangaung Oval is a cricket oval in Bloemfontein, South Africa, mostly used for cricket matches. Previous names for the ground include Springbok Park, Chevrolet Park, Goodyear Park, and OUTsurance Oval. It is the home of the Knights cricket team. The Dolphins (known as the Hollywood Dolphins for sponsorship reasons) are a cricket team representing the KwaZulu-Natal (Coastal) province in South Africa. Kingsmead is a Cricket field, cricket ground in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Its stated capacity is 25,000, although grass terracing makes up part of the viewing area.
