2014–15 Miami Hurricanes Women's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Miami hurricanes women's basketball team represented the University of Miami during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Hurricanes, led by tenth-year head coach Katie Meier, play their home games at the BankUnited Center and were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 8–8 in ACC play to finish in eighth place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC women's tournament where they lost to Notre Dame. They received an at-large bid of the NCAA women's tournament where they upset Washington in the first round before losing to Iowa in the second round. Katie Meier
Katie Meier (born December 19, 1967) is head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She is a 1990 graduate of Duke University, where she played college basketball. As of 2022, Meier has the most wins of any coach of the University of Miami women's basketball team in the program's 50-year history. Playing career Meier's success as a coach is a direct reflection on her playing career as a stand-out at Duke University. A four-year letter winner for the Blue Devils under head coach Debbie Leonard from 1986–90, Meier's name is scattered throughout the Duke record books. In 1990, Meier was named to the team representing the United States at the William Jones Cup competition in Taipei, Taiwan. Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center (commonly known as the Murphy Center) is the name of the main athletic department building at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The building opened December 11, 1972, and is named in honor of former athletics director Charles M. The 2014–15 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders women's basketball team represented Middle Tennessee State University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Blue Raiders, led by 10th year head coach Rick Insell, play their home games at the Murphy Center and were second year members of Conference USA. They finished the season 24–10, 14–4 in C-USA play to finish in second place. They advanced to the semifinals of the C-USA women's tournament where they lost to Southern Miss. WVUM (90.5 FM) is a non-commercial alternative and electronic music college radio station at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in the United States and broadcasting over-the-air to the Miami metropolitan area and streaming online via Internet radio. The station is owned by WVUM, Inc., a corporation owned by an advisory board composed of faculty and students at the University of Miami.
