The 2014–15 Melbourne Victory FC season was the club's 10th season since its establishment in 2004. Melbourne Victory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Melbourne, Victoria. Competing in the country's premier men's competition, the A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL), Victory entered the competition in the inaugural season as the only Victorian-based club in the newly revamped domestic Australian league. Nicolas Clive Ansell (born 2 February 1994) is an Australian professional football (soccer) player who plays as a centre back for Adelaide United in the A-League. Club career Ansell spent several years in the Melbourne Victory youth squad before a breakout 2012–13 season, which saw him rewarded with a senior A-League contract. Considered an upcoming future star, he made an immediate impact as a commanding centre back, playing a key role in Melbourne Victory's 2014/15 Premiership-Championship double. Matthieu Delpierre (born 26 April 1981 in Nancy, France) is a retired French footballer who played as a centre back. Delpierre's professional career started with Lille OSC, before a move to VfB Stuttgart in Germany where he eventually became the club captain.
