The 2014–15 Aldaris Latvian Basketball League is the 24th season of the top basketball league of Latvia. The regular season began on October 1, 2014, and ended on April 11, 2015. The playoffs began on April 15, 2015, and ended on May 28, 2015. Akselis Vairogs (born November 8, 1985) is a Latvian professional basketball coach and a former player, who played the shooting guard position. Professional career Vairogs started his career in Ventspils system playing for its farm-club Ventspils Augstskola. In the 2005-06 season, he was loaned to BK Valmiera where he became the top scorer of the Baltic Basketball League averaging 20.9 points in 31 games. He has spent most of his career playing for Ventspils, but Vairogs also played for Slask Wroclaw in Poland, and Zemgale Jelgava in Latvia and JSA Bordeaux Basket in France. On August 8, 2014, he re-signed a contract with Ventspils. Ingus Jakovičs (born 18 April 1993) is a Latvian professional basketball guard for Básquet Coruña of the LEB Oro. He is also a member of the Latvian national team. Professional career Jakovičs started playing basketball for BK Gulbenes Buki in Latvian Basketball League 2nd division. In 2010, he spent a season with BAA Riga, which was a youth team that played in LBL D2. Kaspars Kambala (born December 13, 1978) is a Latvian semi-professional basketball player, currently for BK Jūrmala, and a former professional boxer. Standing at , he plays at the position of forward-center. High school A 1997 graduate of Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin and a native of Riga, Latvia. Jānis Timma
Jānis Timma (born 2 July 1992) is a Latvian professional basketball player for Grises de Humacao of the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He also represents the senior Latvian national team. At a height of , he plays mainly at the small forward position. Professional career Timma grew up playing basketball in his hometown of Krāslava, but he later moved to Rīga at age 15. At first he joined ASK Rīga's youth system, and made a few appearances for its senior team, during the end of the 2008–09 season. The following year, ASK Riga was dissolved and he played with DSN Rīga, a team that consisted of young Latvian talents. Timma helped DSN Rīga to win the Latvian 2nd division in the 2009–10 season. Žanis Peiners (born 1 August 1990) is a Latvian professional basketball player. He is 2.05 m (6 ft  in) tall shooting guard-small forward. Professional career In 2009, he started pro career with VEF Rīga. After that season, he went to Latvijas Universitāte, where he played the next three seasons. Peiners helped his team, which consisted of semi-professional student-athletes, to reach the LBL playoffs twice. He was scoring the champion of the LBL in 2013, averaging 21.1 points per game. Kristaps Janičenoks (born March 14, 1983) is a Latvian professional basketball player who currently plays for VEF Rīga. He also plays for the Latvian national basketball team. Playing career Janičenoks first gained attention as a high scoring teenager at the 1999 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. He was the second leading overall scorer at the tournament, averaging 23.5 points per game and was named to All-Tournament Team.
