2014–15 Israeli Basketball Super League
The 2014–2015 Israeli Basketball Super League, for sponsorships reasons known as Ligat Winner Basketball, was the 61st season of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. The season began on October 12, 2014 and ended on June 25, 2014. The season marked the first time since 1993 that Maccabi Tel Aviv did not reach the Finals, and the third time they failed to finish in either the first or second place. The season was the first time in the league's history to not include a Tel Aviv based team in the first or second place. Hapoel Jerusalem B.C. took the Israeli title, after it beat Hapoel Eilat in the Finals. Teams Changes Barak Netanya has been relegated to Ligat Leumit due to financial difficulties, Making Maccabi Ashdod stay in the league although finishing last in the previous season. Hapoel Jerusalem
Hapoel Jerusalem is a sport organization in Jerusalem as a local branch of the Hapoel movement. The branch was established in the 1920s and represents the city in more sports than any other sport organization in Jerusalem. Today, the club's leading sport clubs participate in basketball, association football, swimming, and futsal. Clubs Hapoel Jerusalem Football Club Hapoel Jerusalem F.C. was established in the 1920s and for many years was the leading club in Jerusalem. Gilboa Regional Council
Gilboa Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית הגלבוע, ''Mo'atza Azorit (ha)Gilbo'a'') is a regional council in northern Israel, located on the slopes of the Gilboa mountain range. There are more than 22,000 residents in 38 settlements as of 2007. The size of the area is about 250,000 acres. Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Basketball Premier League, Israeli Premier League. The team plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, since its promotion in 2021. History Elitzur Netanya (1959–1998) Elizur Netanya was promoted to the first league in 1985. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other.
