2014–15 Football League Trophy
The 2014–15 Football League Trophy, was the 31st season in the history of the competition. It is a knock-out tournament for English football clubs in League One and League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football. In all, 48 clubs entered the competition. It was split into two sections, Northern and Southern, with the winners of each section contesting the final at Wembley Stadium. Peterborough United were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the first round by Leyton Orient. Bristol City of League One won the competition for a record third time, defeating rival League One side Walsall by 2–0 in the final at Wembley. Peterborough United F
Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). It was part of Northamptonshire until 1974, when county boundary change meant the city became part of Cambridgeshire instead. Deepdale
Deepdale is a football stadium in the Deepdale area of Preston, England, the home of Preston North End. Deepdale is "widely recognised as being the oldest 'continuously used' football stadium in the world, though this is contested". History The land on which the stadium stands was originally Deepdale Farm. It was leased on 21 January 1875 by the town's North End sports club and originally used for cricket and rugby. Crewe () is a railway town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. Accrington is a town in the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire, England. Crown Ground
The Crown Ground is a multi-use stadium in Accrington, Lancashire, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Accrington Stanley. Opened in 1968, the stadium has a capacity of 5,450. The ground is currently known as the Wham Stadium as part of a three-year £200,000 sponsorship deal with What More UK Ltd. Antony Sweeney
Antony Thomas Sweeney (born 5 September 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in the Football League for Hartlepool United and Carlisle United. He is a first team coach at Hartlepool United. In thirteen seasons with Hartlepool, he made 444 appearances, making him the third highest appearance maker in the club's history. Marcus Carver (born 22 October 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Southport, on loan from Scunthorpe United. Career Carver was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. He joined Accrington Stanley in May 2010, signing a two-year apprenticeship. In April 2012, Carver signed his first professional contract.
