The 2014–15 season of the 2. Bundesliga (women) was the eleventh season of Germany's second-tier women's Association football, football league. The season began on 31 August 2014. Changes VfL Bochum (women), VfL Bochum played in the north group, not in the south group like in previous season. VfL Bochum was automatically relegated back to the Regionalliga (women), Regionalliga after the end of the season due to financial problems, failed to apply a license for next season, this means there will be no relegation playoff this season. North League table Lübars won the league, but did not apply for a licence to the first Bundesliga because of financial reasons. Bremen therefore got promoted. SV Werder Bremen Frauen is SV Werder Bremen's women's football section, currently competing in the Frauen-Bundesliga of Germany. In 2014–15 they were promoted to the Bundesliga. History Already in the early 1970s a women's team played for the German Championship, but was dissolved some years later. Recreated in 2007, Werder Bremen reached the second national category two years later, after topping the Regionalliga's North group. In the 2. Bundesliga's North group, Werder Bremen was 7th in 2010 and 5th in 2011 and 2012. On 27 September 2009, during the in the 2009–10 season, Doreen Nabwire scored the club's first goals in the 2. Bundesliga, by scoring a brace during their opening match against Hamburger SV II to push them to a 2–2 draw. Finishing second in 2014–15 they were promoted because 1.
