2014 Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship
The 2014 Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship was the sixth official edition of the women's volleyball tournament, played by eight teams from 5 – 9 February 2014 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. SESI São Paulo won the 2014 edition qualifying for the 2014 Club World Championship, defeating in the finale hosts Molico/Osasco. Competing clubs Teams were seeded in two pools of four according to how the representatives of their countries finished in the 2013 edition. (*)Both Peru and Chile played the tournament with their U23 national teams, Perú played under the name of LNSV, their national volleyball league and Chile played under the name ADO (''Asociación de Deportistas Olímpicos'', Spanish for Olympic Athletes Association). Brazilian Women's Volleyball Superliga
The Brazilian Volleyball Super League ( pt, Superliga Brasileira de Voleibol) is the top level Brazilian professional volleyball competition. It is organized by the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation. It shares the same name as the men's tournament, and are disputed simultaneously. The number of participating clubs varies every year. The champion team qualifies for the South American Championship. History First competitions Until the early 1960s, there were only state volleyball competitions in Brazil. A national level competition was inconceivable, because of the geographical distances and lack of transportation infrastructure. María Ángela Leyva Tagle (born November 22, 1996, in Lima, Peru) is a peruvian volleyball player who plays for the Peru national team. At the age of 14 she had already been in all categories of Peru's national team, Child (U16), Youth (U18), Junior (U20) and Senior. Leyva was captain of the team that won gold at the 2012 Youth South American Championship, the first gold medal for Peruvian volleyball in that category after 32 years and the first gold in any category in 19 years.
