2014 VMI Keydets Baseball Team
The 2014 VMI Keydets baseball team represented the Virginia Military Institute during the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Keydets played their final season as a member of the Big South Conference, as they returned to the Southern Conference in 2014–15. VMI was led by 11th-year head coach Marlin Ikenberry, and they play their home games out of Gray–Minor Stadium. On February 21, 2014, VMI junior starting pitcher Reed Garrett threw a no-hitter against Lafayette in a 3–0 win. Garrett struck out 13 batters, including 5 of the final 6, in what was the first regular season no-hitter in Gray–Minor Stadium history, and only the second overall. VMI ended the year with a 25–23 overall mark, and 11–16 in conference play, missing out on the Big South tournament for the third straight year. Marlin Ikenberry
Marlin Ikenberry is an American baseball coach and former catcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the James Madison Dukes. He played college baseball at VMI for coach Chris Finwood from 1992 to 1995. He served at head coach of the VMI Keydets for 11 seasons, from 2004 to 2014. He was hired on July 22, 2003, the successor to Tom Slater, who departed for a coaching position at the University of Florida. Ikenberry resigned the position to after the 2014 season to pursue a business opportunity. Ikenberry is a 1995 graduate of VMI. He is the Keydets' winningest head baseball coach, as well as the program's longest tenured head coach. He had a career coaching record of 282–307–1 (.475) in his eleven seasons at VMI. Winthrop Ballpark
The Winthrop Ballpark is a baseball venue in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is home to the Winthrop Eagles baseball team of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. The venue has a capacity of 1,989 spectators. History Renovations between the 2000 and 2001 season added the Wayne Patrick Press Box, stadium lightning, dugouts, and concessions. In 2008, further renovations added offices, practice facilities, a weight room, a dugout, a players lounge, and a luxury box. Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park is a baseball venue in Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States. It is home to the James Madison Dukes baseball team of the NCAA Division I Colonial Athletic Association. James Madison University joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2022. The Harrisonburg Turks of the collegiate summer Valley Baseball League also use the field, which opened in March 2010 and has a capacity of 1,200 spectators. Liberty Baseball Stadium is a baseball venue in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is the home field of the Liberty Flames baseball team, a member of the NCAA Division I ASUN Conference. The Diamond (Richmond, Virginia)
The Diamond is a baseball stadium located in Richmond, Virginia, USA, on Arthur Ashe Boulevard. It is the home of Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Eastern League and the Virginia Commonwealth University baseball team. From 1985 to 2008, it was the home of the Richmond Braves, the Triple-A minor league baseball affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. John Henry Moss Stadium
John Henry Moss Stadium is a baseball stadium home to the Gardner-Webb University Runnin' Bulldogs. It was officially completed on September 18, 2010. The Bud Metheny Baseball Complex is a stadium on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Old Dominion Monarchs baseball team. The Monarchs are members of Conference USA.
