Team Ice Racing World Championship
The FIM Ice Speedway of Nations, formerly known as the Ice Speedway Team World Championship, is an international ice speedway competition, first held in Kalinin (Tver), USSR, in 1979. Since its establishment, the tournament has been noted by a continued Russian dominance: the Soviet Union, Commonwealth of Independent States and Russia have won all but three tournaments. The only non-Russian teams to have won were West Germany in 1983, and Sweden - in 1985, 1995 and 2002. Daniil Ivanov
Daniil Ivanov (born September 23, 1986 in Russia) is an international motorcycle speedway and ice speedway rider. Speedway career Ivanov is a four time World Champion winning the gold medal at the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in the 2013 Individual Ice Racing World Championship, 2014 Individual Ice Racing World Championship, 2019 Individual Ice Racing World Championship and 2020 Individual Ice Racing World Championship. Ivanov is also a nine time world champion having won the Ice Speedway of Nations on nine occasions. He has also represented Russia in the 2007 Speedway World Cup. Dmitry Koltakov (born 6 September 1990) is a Russian three times ice speedway individual world champion and five times World Team champion. Career Koltakov won the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship titles in 2015 and 2017. His third title came when he won the 2018 Individual Ice Racing World Championship in dominating fashion. Career Simon was part of the Austrian team that won 6 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in the Team Ice Racing World Championship from 1998 to 2020. The 2014 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 69th edition of the official World Championship and the 20th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, deciding the FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the fourteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. Tai Woffinden was the defending champion from 2013. 1997 and 2011 world champion Greg Hancock won a third world title, after taking top-five placings in all but one race he contested, including a victory at the British round, in Cardiff.
