2014 Supercopa Argentina
The 2014 Supercopa Argentina Final was the 3rd edition of the Supercopa, an annual football match contested by the winners of the Argentine Primera División and Copa Argentina competitions. Huracán beat River Plate 1–0 in San Juan and won the Argentine Supercup. As champions, Huracán qualified to the 2015 Copa Sudamericana. The Supercopa Argentina (English: Argentine Super Cup) is an official National association football cup of Argentina organized by the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The annual football match was played for the first time in 2012, being contested by the reigning champions of Primera División and Copa Argentina respectively. History The idea of an Argentine "Supercup" came up in 2012 when the Argentine Football Association (AFA), in an attempt to bring innovation to the current system, established a competition that would be contested by champions of Primera División and Copa Argentina, taking inspiration from European cups. Jonathan Maidana
Jonatan Ramón Maidana (born 29 July 1985) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for River Plate. Club career After an initial period in Los Andes, Maidana transferred to Boca Juniors and made his debut with a 9-minute substitute appearance in a 2–2 draw with São Paulo F.C. in the 2006 Recopa Sudamericana. Augusto Jorge Mateo Solari (born 3 January 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Atlas FC as a right winger. Career Born in Rosario, Solari began his career at River Plate and was a member of the sides that won the 2013–14 Primera División, 2014 Copa Sudamericana and 2015 Copa Libertadores titles, among others. Fernando Ezequiel Cavenaghi (; born 21 September 1983) is a retired Argentine professional footballer. He played as a striker who was efficient in front of goal with either foot and from any range.
