The 2014 Sochi GP3 Series round was a GP3 Series motor race held on October 11 and 12, 2014 at Sochi Autodrom, Russia. It was the eighth round of the 2014 GP3 Series. The race supported the 2014 Russian Grand Prix. Dean Stoneman won the feature race from pole position. Sochi Autodrom
The Sochi Autodrom (russian: Сочи Автодром, Sochi Avtodrom), previously known as the Sochi International Street Circuit and the Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a permanent race track in the settlement of Sirius (urban-type settlement), Sirius next to the Black Sea resort town of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The circuit runs around a former Olympic complex, the Sochi Olympic Park site, scene of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The TCR International Series raced at Sochi in 2015 and 2016, with the TCR Russian Series and SMP F4 Championship as support series. Richie Stanaway
Richie Stanaway (born 24 November 1991) is a racing car driver from New Zealand. Career New Zealand Born in Tauranga, Stanaway was originally from a motocross background, before making the switch to speedway at the age of twelve. Following that came a brief foray into kart racing prior to making his formula car debut in 2007 after being selected for the New Zealand SpeedSport Scholarship. He competed in the 2007/08 Formula First championship finishing third overall as the highest placed rookie. Stanaway then made the jump to the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship with Hamilton-based, debutant team TSR Racing alongside team-mate Martin Short. Mitchell Gilbert (born 10 May 1995) is a Malaysian-Australian racing driver. He has participated under both nationalities at various points in his career. Career Born in Kuala Lumpur, Gilbert began his racing career in 2002 in karting, where he was active until 2010. In 2009 he finished third in the KF2 - class of the CIK-FIA World Cup. At the end of 2010 Gilbert debuted in Formula racing in the winter championship of the British Formula Renault Championship for Fortec Motorsport, under an Australian licence. Hilmer Motorsport was a German racing team established in 2013 by Franz Hilmer. The team first raced in the GP2 Series, starting in 2013, replacing Ocean Racing Technology. Riccardo Agostini (born 20 April 1994 in Padua) is an Italian racing driver. Career Karting Agostini began karting in 2000 and raced primarily in his native Italy for the majority of this part of career, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KF2 category by 2010 and finishing 12th in CIK-FIA European Championship. Formula Abarth In 2010, Agostini graduated to single–seaters into the newly launched Formula Abarth series in Italy, stating with Prema Junior. Robert Vișoiu (born 10 February 1996 in Pitești) is a former racing driver from Romania. Career Karting At the age of six, Vișoiu first sat behind the wheel of a kart, the beginning of his karting career. He raced primarily in his native Romania up to 2009, becoming a two-time champion in the Mini Class and champion in the KF3 category. In 2009 Vișoiu switched to International KF3 competitions. Jann Mardenborough (born 9 September 1991) is a British professional racing driver competing in the Japanese Super GT series. In 2011 he became the third (and youngest) winner of the GT Academy competition, beating 90,000 entrants. He was rewarded with a drive for Nissan at the Dubai 24 Hour race. Subsequently, he competed in the F3 European Championship and the GP3 Series, winning a race in Hockenheim. He also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing third in the LMP2 class on his debut in 2013.
