The 2014 season is Sarpsborg 08's 3rd season in Tippeligaen, following their return to the top level in 2012. It is also their second, and final, season with Brian Deane as the club's manager, after he announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. Sarpsborg 08 Fotballforening, commonly known as Sarpsborg 08 or simply Sarpsborg (), is a Norwegian football club based in Sarpsborg, playing in Eliteserien. Sarpsborg 08 and its predecessors played in 1. divisjon from 2005 to 2010. In 2010, the club was promoted to the Tippeligaen, the top league in Norway, but finished last and was relegated back to 1. divisjon in 2011. In 2012, they were promoted again and 6 years after, they qualified for their first Europa League group stage. They play their home games at Sarpsborg Stadion. History Pre-existence Football in Sarpsborg has traditionally been dominated by Sarpsborg FK (SFK), which won the Norwegian Cup six times and played 20 seasons in the top division, and to a lesser extent IL Sparta, which won the Norwegian Cup in 1952 and played nine seasons in the top division. Jérome Polenz (born 7 November 1986) is a German retired professional footballer who mostly played as a defender. Club career Early career Polenz was born in Berlin, Germany, to an Algerian father and a German mother. He first began his youth career with SC Siemensstadt at the age of seven before advancing through the youth systems of CFC Hertha 06 and TeBe Berlin. Growing up, Polenz attended the Gymnasium Obervieland and graduated with an Abitur diploma. Jérémy Berthod
Jérémy Berthod (born 24 April 1984) is a French former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He is the trainer of Ain Sud for the 2022-2023 season. Career Berthod was born in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, Rhône. A product of the Olympique Lyonnais youth academy, he made his first team debut on 13 September 2003 in a 1–1 home draw against Auxerre. Christian Sukke
Christian Sukke (born 21 January 1993) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Østsiden IL. He hails from Spydeberg. He played youth football for Askim and Moss before joining Sarpsborg 08. He reached the senior team bench for the first time in 2011, and made his first-team debut in 2013. Duwayne Kerr
Duwayne Oriel Kerr (born 16 January 1987) is a Jamaican international footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Career Club Kerr has played club football in Jamaica for Reno and Portmore United. Kerr moved to Norway in 2011, and played two seasons for the Norwegian First Division side Strømmen, and was the best goalkeeper in the 2012 Norwegian First Division according to Sarpsborg 08's Director of Sports, Thomas Berntsen. Claes Kronberg
Claes Phillip Kronberg (né Jørgensen) (born 19 April 1987) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a full-back for KÍ Klaksvík. Career Kronberg was born in Nykøbing Falster where he also played for Lolland Falster Alliancen. Kronberg joined Sarpsborg 08 in 2011. He made his debut for Sarpsborg 08 in a 3–1 loss against Lillestrøm. In July 2013 he changed his surname to Kronberg after he married his girlfriend. Kronberg joined Viking ahead of the 2016 season.
