The 2014 Sarasota Open was a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the sixth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2014 ATP Challenger Tour. It took place in Sarasota, Florida, United States between 14 and 20 April 2014. Green Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Sekou Bangoura
Sekou Bangoura Jr. (born November 18, 1991) is an American professional tennis player. Bangoura partnered with Nathan Pasha to win the 2010 Kalamazoo Boys' Junior National Tennis Championship, defeating Jack Sock and Matthew Kandath 7–5, 6–3 in the finals. With their victory, Bangoura and Pasha earned a wildcard into the 2010 US Open doubles event, where they lost in the first round to Michael Kohlmann and Jarkko Nieminen 3–6, 1–6. Bangoura made his ATP main draw debut at the 2014 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships in the doubles event partnering Vahid Mirzadeh. Vahid Mirzadeh (born December 28, 1986, in Lake Worth, Florida) is an American tennis player. Neal Skupski
Neal Skupski (born 1 December 1989) is a British professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He achieved his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 1 on 14 November 2022. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion in mixed doubles, having won the 2021 and 2022 Wimbledon Championships alongside Desirae Krawczyk. Skupski has won 13 titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2022 Madrid Open, 2022 Canadian Open and the 2022 Paris Masters with partner Wesley Koolhof, and has finished runner-up at the US Open and four further Masters 1000 events. Michael Venus (tennis)
Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987), is a New Zealander professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching. Venus and Harrison qualified for the year-end championships ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinals. Scott Lipsky
Scott Lipsky (born August 14, 1981 in Merrick, New York) is an American former professional tennis player and coach. As a player, Lipsky was primarily a doubles specialist. As a junior, Lipsky was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. in singles in 1995, and No. 1 in doubles for three straight years, in 1995–97. He won USTA national singles championships at both the 1995 Boys' 14s Clay Court Championships and the 1997 Boys' 16s Clay Court Championships. In doubles, he and Jeremy Wurtzman won the USTA national 1996 and 1997 Boys' 16s Championships, and the 1999 Boys' 18s Clay Court Championships.
