2014 Safeway Championship
The 2014 Safeway Championship, Manitoba's provincial men's curling championship, was held from January 29 to February 2 at the MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The winning Jeff Stoughton team represented Manitoba at the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier in Kamloops, British Columbia. Winnipeg
Winnipeg () is the capital and largest city of the province of Manitoba in Canada. Randy Dutiaume
Randy Dutiaume is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dutiaume was relatively unknown to curling until 2005, having only participated in the 2003 Manitoba men's championship finishing 0-2. However, in 2005 with a new team of Dave Elias, Greg Melnichuk and Shane Kilgallen Dutiaume won the Manitoba Curling Association Bonspiel with a record of 17-1, his only loss coming to junior curler Adam Norget, to qualify for the Manitoba championship. Dutiaume won the Manitoba championship having to get by strong teams like Kerry Burtnyk and Jeff Stoughton, and then Ryan Fry in the final. After winning the Manitoba championship, Dutiaume would go on to the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier where he finished with a strong performance, finishing 2nd in the round-robin behind defending champion Randy Ferbey and his Alberta rink. Bruce Archer (curler)
Leonard Bruce Archer CBE (22 November 1922 – 16 May 2005) was a British chartered mechanical engineer and Professor of Design Research at the Royal College of Art (RCA) who championed research in design, and helped to establish design as an academic discipline. Archer spent most of his working life in schools of art and design, including more than 25 years at the RCA. He promoted the use of systems-level analysis, evidence-based design, and evaluation through field testing within industrial design, and led a multi-disciplinary team which employed these methods in practice, including most notably their application to the design of what became the standard British hospital bed.
