2014 Rally Argentina
The 2014 Rally Argentina was the fifth round of the 2014 World Rally Championship season. The event was based in Villa Carlos Paz, Argentina, and started on 8 May and finished on 11 May after fourteen special stages, totaling 405.1 competitive kilometres. Finnish driver Jari-Matti Latvala won the Rally Argentina for the first time, taking his second of three victories during the 2014 season. Rally Argentina
The Rally Argentina ( es, Rally de Argentina) is an Argentine rally competition that has been a round of the World Rally Championship, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, the South American Rally Championship and the Argentine Rally Championship. It is held in the area around Villa Carlos Paz in Córdoba Province, on narrow gravel roads best known for their water-splashes. History The rally was first run in 1980, in Tucumán Province and organized by the Automovil Club Argentino. The winners of that first edition were Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer (Fiat 131 Abarth). In the 1981 season the rally took again place in Tucumán, but in 1982 was not held. In 1983 it was moved to San Carlos de Bariloche, but in 1984 was moved to Córdoba Province, where it has been held ever since. Yuriy Protasov ( uk, Юрій Протасов, born April 23, 1984, in the Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a rally driver from Ukraine. He won the Ukrainian Rally Championship in 2008. In 2011, Protasov contested in the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC) with the Darnitsa Motorsport driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X. Career Karting Yuriy Protasov began his motorsport career in 1994 under the guidance of his father, a famous Ukrainian driver Leonid Protasov. Nasser Salih Nasser Abdullah Al-Attiyah ( ar, ناصر صالح ناصر عبدالله العطية : nāṣir ṣāliḥ nāṣir ʿabdullāh al-ʿaṭṭīyah; born 21 December 1970 in Doha) is a Qatari rally driver and sport shooter. DMACK, the parent company of DMACK Holdings Ltd., is a Rovereto, Italy, based tyre manufacturer which started as a company based in Carlisle, United Kingdom. History DMACK was founded in 2008 by Dick Cormack to deliver smaller tyre sizes than the ones supplied by industry giants, such as Michelin and Goodyear, specifically for the rally market. Proposed UK factory DMACK worked with Lehman Lee & Xu, the British government, and local authorities in its plans to build a tyre factory near Carlisle, England. The facility was scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017. It was speculated that it could bring up to 500 jobs when production is up to full scale.
