2014 National League Speedway Season
The 2014 season of the National League, the third tier of British speedway was contested by nine teams. The Cradley Heathens won the title. The Isle of Wight Islanders were missing from 2012, and the Scunthorpe Stags and Devon Demons have joined the league. National League (speedway)
The current National Development League formerly the National League was formed in 2009 as the third division of speedway in the United Kingdom, replacing the Conference League. It follows the same rules and regulations as the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship, including the use of rider averages. There were two previous speedway leagues in Britain sharing the 'National League' name, the main league that operated from 1932 to 1964, and British League Division Two, which was renamed the National League between 1975 and 1990. Kent Kings
The Kent Royals (formerly Kings) are a British speedway team formed in 2013. Through 2021 they competed in the SGB Championship but also run a junior team in the National League. They were based at Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne, with a track laid inside the greyhound racing track, but moved to the Iwade track and operated solely as a NDL team starting in 2022. Matt Williamson
Matt Williamson is an American football coach and former player. He served as the head football coach at Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, Missouri from 2017 to 2022. After playing four years for the Missouri Western Griffons, Williams served as the team's graduate assistant for the 1998 season. Nathan Greaves
Nathan Robert Greaves (born 24 February 1998, Sheffield) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. Career Greaves started his British speedway career for the Cradley Heathens in 2013. He raced with Swindon Robins as a fast track reserve in 2014 before joining Workington Comets for the 2014 Premier League speedway season. Also in 2014, he was part of the Cradley team that won the National League Fours, held on 26 October 2014 at Brandon Stadium. After a season with the Sheffield Tigers in 2016 he signed for Wolverhampton Wolves in the SGB Premiership 2017 and Ipswich Witches for the 2017 season. Paul Starke
Paul Simon Starke (born 18 November 1990) is an English speedway rider. Career Born in Hereford, Starke started his career with the Buxton Hitmen in 2007, before going on to have spells at a variety of different clubs during his development into an Elite League rider. Starke's most successful period to date was his two years with the Cradley Heathens in the National League from 2013 to 2014. It was here that he won two league titles, forming a formidable partnership with Steve Worrall during the second year and he was part of the Dudley/Cradley team that won the National League Fours in 2013and 2014. His first spell in the Elite League in 2014, was a disappointing one. Stefan Leeder Nielsen (born 31 October 1994) is a British speedway rider. Nielsen has a British mother and Danish father, and was born in Esbjerg, Denmark. He first rode speedway at the age of four and a half in Denmark and went on to ride for Grindsted in the 80cc class. In 2010 he rode for Outrup in the Danish second division. The competition was previously known as the Academy League Knockout Cup (1995) and the Conference League Knockout Cup (1996-2008) until it changed name to the National League Knockout Cup.
