2014 NatWest T20 Blast
The 2014 NatWest t20 Blast was the first season of the NatWest t20 Blast, the English Twenty20 cricket competition. The competition ran from 16 May 2014 until Finals Day at Edgbaston on 23 August, which was won by Birmingham Bears. The competition replaced the Friends Life t20 competition. With attendance figures over 700,000, it was the most attended season of T20 cricket in England since the format began in 2003. Format The 18 teams were divided into two groups of nine. In the style of a round-robin tournament, each team played six other teams in their group both home and away. The other two teams were faced just once. The top four teams from each group qualified for the knockout stage: a three-round single-elimination tournament. The winner of each group had a home match in the quarter-finals against the fourth team from the other group. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the Sports governing body, national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. It was formed on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body to combine the roles formerly fulfilled by the Test and County Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Council. Jim Troughton
Jamie Oliver Troughton (born 2 March 1979) is an English cricket coach and former cricketer. He is currently Assistant Coach at Surrey, and as a player was mainly an attack-minded left-handed batsman and an occasional slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played for (and captained) Warwickshire. He also played for the England one day international team. Family and acting Troughton was born into a well-known British acting family. He is the son of the stage and television actor David Troughton, who is a leading member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the nephew of Michael Troughton. Mark Stoneman
Mark Daniel Stoneman (born 26 June 1987) is an English cricketer who plays for Middlesex County Cricket Club and for England. He made his international debut for England in August 2017. He bats left handed and normally plays as an opening batsman. Early life and domestic career Stoneman attended Marley Hill County Primary School, followed by Whickham School. He joined Durham in 2005 and played two seasons in the second eleven, before making his first team debut in 2007. Stoneman scored fifty in his second match, against Hampshire and what was then his highest score, 101, in a victory over Sussex in September 2007. Jonathan Lewis (cricketer)
Jonathan James Benjamin Lewis (born 21 May 1970, Isleworth, Middlesex, England) is the current Batting Coach of Bangladesh. He represented Essex (1990-1996; Cap 1995) and Durham (1997-2006, Captain 2001-2004) as a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium fast bowler in 205 first-class matches. Riverside Ground
The Riverside Ground, known for sponsorship reasons as the Seat Unique Riverside, is a cricket venue in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, England. It is home to Durham County Cricket Club, and has also hosted several international matches. History Durham's acceptance into first-class cricket in 1991 was made conditional on the building of a new Test match-standard cricket ground. Work began on the new ground at the Riverside in a location overlooked by Lumley Castle in 1990, with development continuing in phases. Work on the outfield and playing surface began in 1993. Chester-le-Street (), also known as Chester, is a market town and civil parish in County Durham, England, around north of Durham and also close to Sunderland and Newcastle upon Tyne. Durham County Cricket Club
Durham County Cricket Club (rebranded as Durham Cricket in February 2019) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham. Founded in 1882, Durham held minor status for over a century and was a prominent member of the Minor Counties Championship, winning the competition seven times. In 1992, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to senior status as an official first-class team. Shivnarine "Shiv" Chanderpaul (born 16 August 1974) is a Guyanese cricket coach and former captain of the West Indies cricket team. Wayne Lee Madsen (born 2 January 1984) is an English cricketer who plays for Derbyshire County Cricket Club. He has previously played field hockey for the South Africa men's national field hockey team. Graeme Welch
Graeme Welch (born 21 March 1972) is a former English cricket player and coach born in Durham. He played for two county teams, Derbyshire and Warwickshire. Graeme Welch was appointed captain of Derbyshire for the 2006 season following the departure of Luke Sutton to Lancashire. In his Derbyshire career he has taken 50 wickets each season except one where he was injured for most of it, therefore it shows why he has taken 685 wickets at all top cricket levels and has also shown promise with the bat, scoring 7089 runs at all professional levels. When he played for Warwickshire he was part of the famous team including Shaun Pollock, Brian Lara and Dermot Reeve. The County Cricket Ground (usually shortened to the County Ground, also known as the Racecourse Ground; currently the Incora County Ground due to sponsorship) is a cricket ground in Derby, England. It has been the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club since 1871. The ground was first used by South Derbyshire Cricket Club in 1863 and was initially located within Derby Racecourse, although racing ceased after 1939.
