2014 NCHC Tournament
The 2014 NCHC Tournament was the first tournament in league history. It was played between March 13 and March 22, 2014. Quarterfinal games were played at home team campus sites, while the final four games were played at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. By winning the tournament, Denver received the NCHC's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Format The tournament features three rounds of play. In the quarterfinals the first seed and eighth seed, the second seed and seventh seed, the third seed and sixth seed and the fourth seed and fifth seed play a best-of-three series with the winners advancing to the semifinals. After the opening round every series becomes a single-elimination game. In the semifinals, the highest and lowest remaining seeds and second highest and second lowest seeds are matched against one another with the winners advancing to the championship game and the loser advancing to the third place game. 2013–14 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 2013 and ended with the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game in April 2014. This was the 67th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and the 120th year overall in which an NCAA school fielded a team. Conference realignment The March 2011 announcement that the Big Ten Conference would start sponsoring men's ice hockey in the 2013–14 season, which came shortly after Penn State had announced that it would upgrade its team from club to full varsity status effective in 2012–13, led to a major wave of conference realignment in that sport. Michael Parks (ice Hockey)
Michael Parks (born February 15, 1992) is an American former professional ice hockey player who played in the American Hockey League (AHL), Finnish Liiga, Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan, and Slovak Extraliga. Career Parks was drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. After four seasons at the North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey, University of North Dakota, he started his career with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2015 and the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL in 2016. Parks signed a contract in Finland to play for top flight Liiga team, Vaasan Sport on July 26, 2017.
