2014 NBL Canada Finals
The 2014 NBL Canada Finals was the championship series of the 2013–14 National Basketball League of Canada season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Central Division champions Windsor Express played against the Atlantic Division champions Island Storm, in a best-of-seven series. The Windsor Express won the series 4–3. The Finals began on April 4, and ended on April 17. The Express claimed their first title ever and Stefan Bonneau was named Finals MVP. National Basketball League Of Canada
The National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada; french: Ligue nationale de basketball du Canada) is a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. The league has changed in size multiple times and has four active teams for the 2023 season, all in Ontario, but historically has had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically begins in November and ends in April of the following year. The most recent champions are the London Lightning, having defeated the KW Titans 3–0 in the 2022 NBL Finals. Chris Commons (basketball)
Christopher Earl Commons (born December 8, 1984) is an American professional basketball player. Brought up in Toledo, Ohio, he played high school basketball at Central Catholic High School. Commons initially competed at the collegiate level for the University of Findlay before transferring to the University of South Carolina Aiken. At USC Aiken, he played in the NCAA Division II and earned all-league honors. Upon his departure from college, Commons joined Al Ittihad in Bahrain. He then moved to Germany to play with BSV Wulfen. In 2010, he signed with the Brunei Barracudas in Southeast Asia. Commons returned to the US in 2011 to compete for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Steamers, only to finish the season with the Finnish club Korikobrat. Dwayne Romel Smith (born 12 April 1983) is a former Barbadian international cricketer who has represented the West Indies in all three formats of the game. An all-rounder, he is known as an aggressive and powerful right-handed batsman, bowls medium pace, and is also an athletic fielder. Smith was a part of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup. Smith had played for Barbados since the start of his career but also played three seasons, from 2008 to 2010, for Sussex.
