2014 Maltese Super Cup
The 2014 Maltese Super Cup was the 32nd Maltese Super Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Maltese Premier League and the FA Trophy. The game was played between Valletta, champions of the 2013–14 Maltese Premier League, and Birkirkara, who beat Hibernians in the final of the 2014–15 FA Trophy. Birkirkara F
Birkirkara (abbreviated as B'Kara) is a city in the central region of Malta. It is the second most populous on the island, with 24,356 inhabitants as of 2020. The town consists of five autonomous parishes: Saint Helen, Saint Joseph the Worker, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Saint Mary and San Gorg Preca. The city's motto is ''In hoc signo vinces'', and its coat of arms is a plain red cross, surmounted by a crown. Etymology ''Birkirkara'' means "cold water" or "running water". This is attributed to the valley in the town. Originally, the name was written as ''Birchircara'', as influenced by Italian spelling which traditionally does not use the letter 'K'. Jonathan Caruana
Jonathan Caruana (born 24 July 1986) is a professional footballer who plays for Maltese Premier League side Valletta, where he plays as a defender. On 26 September 2017, Caruana was handed a four-year ban from football. The 31-year-old was provisionally suspended by the Malta Football Association after he returned a positive sample during an out-of-competition test conducted by the National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) back in March 2017. Ian Azzopardi (born 12 August 1982 in Zejtun, Malta) is a Maltese footballer who currently plays for Maltese Premier League side Senglea Athletic, where he plays as a defender. Playing career Floriana Ian Azzopardi began his career with Floriana as a trainee, and made his debut for Floriana during the 2000–01 season. Paul Zammit
Paul John Zammit (born 28 April 1941) is a former Australian Liberal politician. He was born into the Maltese-Egyptian community in Alexandria, Egypt, the son of a Maltese father and a Greek mother. He and his family migrated to Australia in 1955, aboard SS ''Strathnaver'', and settled in the Sydney suburb of Punchbowl. Zammit was a businessman before entering politics. Ryan Camenzuli (born 8 September 1994) is a Maltese footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ħamrun Spartans. Club career Camenzuli made his debut for Birkirkara on 30 January 2011, replacing Terence Vella in added time at the end of a 1–0 away win over Vittoriosa Stars. On 6 May, in his only other game of the season, he started in a 0–3 loss at Floriana, making way for Carl Pulo after 57 minutes.
