2014 Lory Meagher Cup
The 2014 Lory Meagher Cup was the sixth staging of the Lory Meagher Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2009. The cup competition began on 3 May 2014 and ended on 7 June 2014. Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire were the 2013 Lory Meagher Cup, defending champions, however, they finished third in the group stage. Longford GAA, Longford won the title after defeating Fermanagh GAA, Fermanagh by 3-18 to 3-16 in the final. The also were promoted to the 2015 Nicky Rackard Cup by defeating Sligo in the relegation-promotion play off. Longford GAA
The Longford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae an Longfort) or Longford GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Longford. The county board is also responsible for the Longford county teams. The county football team won its only National Football League title in 1966 with a one-point victory over Galway in the Home Final and an aggregate win over New York in the Final. Croke Park
Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Brewster Park (Enniskillen)
Brewster Park is a GAA stadium in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of the Enniskillen Gaels and the County ground of Fermanagh GAA. The ground was renovated in 2007 and now has a capacity of roughly 18,000. The ground was named for Mickey Brewster, a Fermanagh and Enniskillen Gaels player and father of Paul Brewster. In the first match played in Brewster Park since the renovations, Fermanagh defeated Monaghan in the first round of the Ulster Senior Football Championship on Sunday, May 26, 2008 by a score of 2–8 to 0–10. Floodlights were installed in the ground in 2008 and were used in the 2008 Ulster Senior Club Football Championship final between Ballinderry and Crossmaglen. Pearse Park (Longford)
Pearse Park is a GAA stadium in Longford, County Longford, Republic of Ireland. It is the main grounds of Longford's Gaelic football and hurling teams. In 2012, the stadium was renamed Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, due to sponsorship with Glennon Brothers, a local timber firm. The ground originally had a capacity of 18,000, however in November 2011, this was cut to 8,000 for health and safety reasons. History The grounds were formerly named Longford Park. Longford first started playing at Longford Park in 1937. The ground was later renamed Pearse Park after Patrick Pearse who had been executed during the Easter Rising.
