Lao League
The Lao League 1 ( lo, ລາວ ພຣີເມຍລີກ), known for sponsorship reasons as the Pepsi Lao League 1, is a football league representing the sport's highest level in Laos. The league is composed of seven clubs for the 2022 season. Format Over the course of a season, which runs from February to September, each team plays against the others three times in a triple round-robin. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. Ezra (; he, עֶזְרָא, '; fl. 480–440 BCE), also called Ezra the Scribe (, ') and Ezra the Priest in the Book of Ezra, was a Jewish scribe (''sofer'') and priest (''kohen''). In Greco-Latin Ezra is called Esdras ( grc-gre, Ἔσδρας). According to the Hebrew Bible he was a descendant of Sraya, the last High Priest to serve in the First Temple, and a close relative of Joshua, the first High Priest of the Second Temple. He returned from Babylonian exile and reintroduced the Torah in Jerusalem. According to 1 Esdras, a Greek translation of the Book of Ezra still in use in Eastern Orthodoxy, he was also a High Priest. 2014 Mekong Club Championship
The 2014 Mekong Club Championship was the inaugural season of the Mekong Club Championship. Four teams from the respective domestic league winners from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam competed. The inaugural championship was in Vietnam from 31 October 2014 and 2 November and played on a knockout basis starting from the semi-finals stage. The championship is sponsored by Toyota. Savannakhet (ສະຫວັນນະເຂດ), officially named Kaysone Phomvihane ( lo, ໄກສອນ ພົມວິຫານ; th, ไกสอน พมวิหาน) since 2005 and previously known as ''Khanthaboury'' (ຄັນທະບູລີ), is a city in western Laos. It is the capital of Savannakhet Province. With a population of 125,760 (2018), it is the second-largest city in Laos, after Vientiane. Although the old French colonial quarter of the town, along the Mekong River-front, is depressed and crumbling, the town's proximity to Thailand's booming economy has brought about new commercial development in the northern part of the town, near both the river crossing and the bus terminal. FC Chanthabouly, previously known as Lao Toyota F.C. for sponsorship reasons, is a professional football club based in Vientiane, Laos, competing in the Lao League 1. History FC Chanthabouly was founded in 2013 as Lao Toyota F.C. by Toyota. The team debuted in the Vientiane Capital League 1 in 2013, where they finished third and earned promotion to the Lao Premier League. In 2015, the team won its first domestic championship. This was followed by four successive championship victories between 2017 and 2020. Since 2015, the team has qualified every season for the AFC Cup.
