2014 Indian Badminton League
2016 Premier Badminton League (also known as Star Sports Premier Badminton League 2016 for sponsorship reasons) was the first edition of the Premier Badminton League. The season was held from 2–17 January 2016. The opening ceremony was held in Mumbai and the Finals in Delhi. Delhi Dashers (formerly Delhi Acers) became the champions after beating Mumbai Rockets in the final. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was brand ambassador of the league. Delhi Dashers (formerly Delhi Acers) won the title by defeating Mumbai Rockets 4–3. Badminton Association Of India
Badminton Association of India (BAI) is the governing body of badminton in India. BAI is an association registered under the societies act. It was formed in 1934, and has been holding national-level tournaments in India since 1936. BAI has 28 state members that conduct badminton tournaments and have a two-times voting power compared to the affiliate members, who do not conduct tournaments and have a single vote each in the association. Rajiv Ouseph
Theratil Rajiv Ouseph (born 30 August 1986) is a former badminton player from England who represented both England and Great Britain in the international tournaments. Ouseph was the European Champion, winning in 2017. Ouseph was born and brought up in London and is of Indian descent. Career Ouseph has won the men's singles titles at the National Championships, seven times in a row from 2008 to 2014, the first player to do so. Ouseph became the first player to win more than four consecutive national singles titles since Darren Hall (1988–1991). In the junior English national circuit, he has won all the singles titles from the ages of U–13 to U–19. Vladimir Ivanov (badminton)
Vladimir Alexandrovich Ivanov (russian: Владимир Александрович Иванов; born 3 July 1987) is a Russian badminton player. He was the champion at the 2014 and 2021 European Championships, and also the 2016 All England Open partnering with Ivan Sozonov. Chayut Triyachart
Chayut Triyachart (born 9 October 1989) is a Thai-born Singaporean former badminton player. At the Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal in the 2014 men's doubles, and two bronze medals in the 2014 mixed team and 2010 mixed doubles. In July 2015, Triyachart suffered a partial tear in his achilles tendon and struggled to recover from his injury. With the setback, he decided to quit professional badminton. Manu Attri (born 31 December 1992) is an Indian badminton player who currently plays men's and mixed doubles. He partners with Jishnu Sanyal for men's doubles events and previously partnered with B. Sumeeth Reddy. For mixed doubles events, he partners with N. Siki Reddy, and previously, K. Maneesha. He competed at the 2014 Asian Games, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Han Li (, born 16 January 1988) is a Chinese badminton player from Tai'an, Shandong. In 2003, she was elected to join the Chinese national youth team, and two years later she joined the national senior team. Rajah Menuri Venkata Gurusaidutt or R. M. V. Gurusaidutt or Gurusai Dutt born (on 1 March 1990) to RMV Bharadwaj and RM Anjana is a badminton player from India. Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar (born 17 July 1992), also known as H. S. Prannoy, is an Indian badminton player who currently trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. Tan Boon Heong (, born 18 September 1987) is a former World No.1 Malaysian professional badminton player in the men's doubles event. Career 2004-2006 Tan was previously paired with Hoon Thien How, with whom he won the World Junior Championships in 2004 and a silver medal at the 2006 Asian Badminton Championships. 2006 Nearing the Doha Asian Games in 2006, Rexy Mainaky (the Malaysian doubles coach) decided to split them up and partner Tan Boon Heong with Koo Kien Keat instead.
