2014 Football Queensland Season
The 2014 Football Queensland season was the second season since NPL Queensland commenced as the top tier of Queensland men's football. Below NPL Queensland is a regional structure of ten zones with their own leagues. The strongest of the zones is Football Brisbane with its senior men's competition consisting of five divisions. The NPL Queensland premiers qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2014. Harimau Muda A
Harimau Muda A was the club name for the former Malaysia Under-22 National Football Team, representing Malaysia in international football (soccer), football competitions such as the AFC U-22 Asian Cup, Champions Youth Cup as well as other under-22 international football tournaments. It was managed by Football Association of Malaysia. The squad was the feeder team for Malaysia national under-23 football team, Malaysia U-23 and senior national football team. In 2015, Harimau Muda (football team), Harimau Muda once again became a single team composed of former Harimau Muda A & B players. Albany Creek Excelsior Football Club is an Australian football (soccer) club from Albany Creek, a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The club was formed in 1963, and currently play in Brisbane Premier League. History Albany Creek Excelsior was founded in 1963 by Hec Wolter, the headmaster of Albany Creek Primary School. The early years of the club focussed on providing teams for Brisbane's junior soccer competitions, with an emphasis on the development of local junior players. The club is first recorded as competing in senior competition in 1977 when it played in Brisbane's Division Seven. Brisbane Phoenix FC
Brisbane Phoenix Football Club is a football (soccer) club located in the Australian city of Brisbane, Queensland. History The club was formed as a junior team by a group of disgruntled Brisbane Lions members, mostly British immigrants, and was originally known as Inala City Soccer Club. They adopted the colours of Crystal Palace F.C. (maroon, sky-blue and white) and played their first year at the fields of the Darra United Soccer Club. A bond of friendship was formed between the two clubs. In 1973, Inala City was offered their own fields at Freeman Road, Richlands. In 1979, Inala City expanded to form a senior club, absorbing some of its own juniors who had progressed. North Star FC is a football club based in Zillmere, Queensland, Australia. History The Club was founded in 1958 as Zillmere Stars Junior Soccer Club by a group of fathers, as Zillmere Church of Christ were unable to continue their teams. They played their games, and continue to play at O'Callaghan Park. There was a men's team at the time known as the Zillmere Magpies, but they had nothing to do with the new Junior club that had just started. In 1963 Zillmere Stars also started a Women's team. From the late 1970s, under the guidance of club president Laurie Anderson and director of senior football Jack Baron, the club rose from relative obscurity winning Division 3 in 1980, Division 2 in 1981 and became a dominant force in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the Brisbane Premier League. Peninsula Power is an Australian soccer club from Redcliffe, Queensland. It was formed in 2000 following a merger of the Redcliffe City and Margate clubs. It competes in the National Premier Leagues Queensland. History Redcliffe City Soccer Club The Redcliffe Soccer Club initially competed in Brisbane's junior competitions, fielding a team in junior first grade in 1948. Palm Beach Soccer Club is an Australian amateur soccer club based in Gold Coast, Queensland. The club was formed in 1966. History Palm Beach In 1964 Eddie Wardell organised a group of boys, one of which was his son, to play football out of Palm Beach and compete in a three team football competition against Kingscliff and Twin Towns. The first game for Palm Beach was held at Salk Oval and the team members wore plain green T-shirts but the team would later move to a council paddock also located in Palm Beach. By 1965 the local Gold Coast Association football competition wanted a presence in Palm Beach and invited the team to join the local junior competitions.
