2014 Florida Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Florida, on November 4, 2014. State elections Governor and Lieutenant Governor Incumbent Republican Governor Rick Scott and Lieutenant Governor Carlos López-Cantera sought re-election. Scott faced Elizabeth Cuevas-Neunder, a conservative activist and candidate for governor in 1998 and Yinka Adeshina, a pharmacist, in the Republican primary. Scott and López-Cantera faced former Republican governor and independent candidate for Senate in 2010 Democrat Charlie Crist and Annette Taddeo-Goldstein in the general election. The Florida Senate is the upper house of the Florida Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Florida, the Florida House of Representatives being the lower house. Jeffrey Hardee Atwater (born April 8, 1958) is an American financier who served as the 3rd Chief Financial Officer of Florida from 2011 to 2017, and currently serves as Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Chief Financial Officer at Florida Atlantic University. Adam Putnam
Adam Hughes Putnam (born July 31, 1974) is an American politician who served as the 11th Commissioner of Agriculture of Florida from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives for five terms, representing the Central Florida-based 12th congressional district.
