2014 FIVB World Grand Prix
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 22nd edition of the annual women's international volleyball tournament played by 28 countries from 25 July to 24 August 2014. The Group 1 final round was held in Tokyo, Japan. The Brazilian star team won the tournament for the tenth time, the second consecutive victory. Qualification *No qualification tournament. *28 teams are invited. Qualified teams Format *It will be the first time the World Grand Prix will feature 28 teams. *During the Intercontinental Round, Pools A to O will play matches in three stand-alone tournaments, for a total of 9 matches per team. Nana Iwasaka
Nana Iwasaka (岩坂名奈 ''Iwasaka Nana'', born July 3, 1990) is a retired Japanese volleyball player who plays for Hisamitsu Springs. Life She was born in 1990 in Fukuoka City. Iwasaka was part of the Japanese national team that won the 2011 Montreux Volley Masters in Switzerland. Nana retired in 2021. Haruka Miyashita
is a Japanese volleyball player who plays for the Okayama Seagulls. She also plays for the All-Japan women's volleyball team. Career Miyashita was once a wing-spiker, but was converted to setter by Akiyoshi Kawamoto, who was on the senior staff of Osaka International Ōwada Junior High and the head coach of the Okayama Seagulls. In September 2009, while still attending Ōwada Junior High, Miyashita registered with the Okayama Seagulls. On 28 November 2009 Miyashita debuted in a V.Premier League match at the age of 15 years and two months. That is the record for the youngest debut in the V.Premier League. In the match Miyashita collided with a teammate, and broke two front teeth. Sayaka Tsutsui
is a female volleyball player from Japan. Tsutsui plays for Le Cannet (fr) and also plays for the Japan women's national volleyball team as libero. Career Tsutsui was born in Kurate Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. She became a volleyball player at 6 years old and won a silver medal at All-Japan elementary school's tournament with Kurate junior VC. While attending the Higashikyushu Ryukoku Highschool, Tsutsui won various highschool competitions with Miyu Nagaoka who is one year senior. Especially at 2009 Empress's Cup, Higashikyushu Ryukoku Highschool beat two teams of V.Premier League and Tsutsui won the bronze medal. NEC Red Rockets
is a women's volleyball team based in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan. It plays in V.League 1. The owner of the team is NEC. The club was founded in April 1978 as NEC's corporate team, participating the same year in the 10th V.Challenge League tournament. The club advanced to membership in the Japan Volleyball League in 1979, securing 3rd place in the league rankings by the end of the season. The club has subsequently been league champions six times, and marked its 200th victory in 2008. Kana Ōno
Kana Ōno (大野 果奈、''Ōno Kana'', born 30 June 1992) is a female volleyball player from Japan. Kana plays for NEC Red Rockets and also plays for Japan women's national volleyball team as Middle Blocker. Career Kana was born in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture as a twin sister. Her elder sister is Kaho Ōno who plays now for Toray Arrows. Kaho and Kana are called "Ōno Twins"(大野ツインズ). Ōno Twins became volleyball players at 7 years old. While attending the Furukawagakuen Highschool, Ōno Twins and their volleyball team won the 2010 Inter-highschool championships and the National Sports Festival of Japan (highschool department), and also won a silver medal at the Inter-highschool Tournament. RC Cannes is a French women's volleyball club based in Cannes and playing in the Ligue AF. History was created as a sports club in 1922 and the volleyball department was introduced in 1942. Originally it had both men and women's teams until 1948 when the men's team was dissolved. The club played in regional and lower national leagues and when the national league was restructured in 1967, it gained a place in the elite league. The club proved to be competitive and after finishing second in 1972, it qualified for the first time to play in a European competition (Cup Winners Cup). In 1993, Chinese coach Yan Fang was hired and the club became very successful. Yukiko Ebata (江畑 幸子 ''Ebata Yukiko'', born November 7, 1989) is a retired Japanese volleyball player who played for the PFU BlueCats and was a member of the Japan women's national volleyball team. She was a member of Japan's bronze medal-winning 2012 Olympic volleyball team. She married to Shun Takahashi who is coach of Victorina Himeji. Career Ebata is from Tsuchizaki-Minato, Akita-shi, Akita prefecture. Her parents are volleyball players, she started playing volleyball when she is in her 3rd year in elementary school. She also has an older brother who also played volleyball.
