2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Qualification (AVC)
The AVC qualification for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship saw member nations compete for four places at the finals in Poland. Draw 29 AVC national teams entered qualification. (Yemen later withdrew) The teams were distributed according to their geographical positions. Teams ranked 1–5 in FIVB World Rankings did not compete in the zonal rounds, and automatically qualified for the final round. The Asian Volleyball Confederation, commonly known by the acronym AVC, is the continental governing body for the sports of indoor, beach, and grass volleyball in Asia and Oceania. It has 65 member associations, mostly located in the Asia-Pacific region, but excludes four transcontinental countries with territory in both Asia and Europe – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, and Turkey – along with Armenia, Cyprus, and Israel, which are members of the CEV instead. National Standard Time is the official time zone in Taiwan defined by an UTC offset of +08:00. This standard is also known as Taipei Time () or Taiwan Time (). History The first time zone standard in Taiwan was enforced on 1 January 1896, the second year of Taiwan under Japanese rule. The Taipei Gymnasium () is a gymnasium in Songshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The gymnasium was opened in 1994 and renovated in 2008. Architecture The gymnasium is housed in a 7-story building with a total floor area of 5,128 m2.
