2014 FIA WTCC Race Of China, Beijing
The 2014 FIA WTCC Race of China, Beijing was the ninth round of the 2014 World Touring Car Championship season and the fourth running of the FIA WTCC Race of China. It was the first of two rounds held in China in 2014, the second taking place at the Shanghai International Circuit the following weekend. It was held on 5 October 2014 at the Goldenport Park Circuit in Beijing, China. Race one was won by Tom Chilton for ROAL Motorsport and race two was won by Robert Huff for Lada Sport, the manufacturer's first victory in the World Touring Car Championship. Background José María López led the drivers' championship coming into the round, sixty points ahead of teammate Yvan Muller. Franz Engstler held the lead of the Yokohama Trophy. The ninth-generation Honda Civic is a range of compact cars (C-segment) manufactured by Honda between 2011 and 2017, replacing the eighth-generation Civic. The Citroën World Touring Car Team was the Citroën factory touring car arm of Citroën Racing, which competed in the World Touring Car Championship. Formation In 2013, Citroën Racing created a new sub-division, the Citroën World Touring Car Team, in order to begin to run in addition in the 2014 World Touring Car Championship. Ma Qinghua () (born 25 December 1987 in Shanghai) is a Chinese racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup with Cyan Performance Lynk & Co. Ma became the first Chinese driver to win an FIA World Championship race when he won race two of the 2014 FIA WTCC Race of Russia. Campos Racing is a Spanish motor racing team, founded by former Formula One driver Adrián Campos. The team has been successful in Formula Three and the GP2 Series. Michael John Soong (born 6 February 1980) is a Hong Kong racing driver previously competing in the China Touring Car Championship. He is a former World Touring Car Championship driver, who made his debut in 2013. Racing career Soong began his career in 2004 in the Hong Kong Touring Car Championship.
