Commonwealth rankings in Athletics – 2014 lists the Top 10 Commonwealth athletes in each event included in the 2014 Commonwealth Games for the Calendar year 2014. Only outdoor performances are included. Rankings are based on a maximum of 3 athletes per country, athletes with a superior performance than the 10th ranked athlete but are not in the top 3 from their country are listed in italics. 2014 Commonwealth Games
The 2014 Commonwealth Games ( gd, Geamannan a' Cho-fhlaitheis 2014), officially known as the XX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Glasgow 2014, ( sco, Glesca 2014 or Glesga 2014; gd, Glaschu 2014), was an international multi-sport event celebrated in the tradition of the Commonwealth Games as governed by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). It took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014. Glasgow was selected as the host city on 9 November 2007 during CGF General Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka, defeating Abuja, Nigeria. It was the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland with around 4,950 athletes from 71 different nations and territories competing in 18 different sports, outranking the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. Remona Burchell (born September 15, 1991) is a Jamaicans, Jamaican sprint (running), sprinter. While running for the University of Alabama, she became a three time NCAA Champion, winning the 60 meters at the NCAA Women's Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, NCAA Indoor Championships in 2014 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships#Women's events, 2014 and 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships#Women's results, 2015. Adam Gemili
Adam Ahmed Gemili (born 6 October 1993) is a British sprinter. He is the 2014 European champion at 200 metres, and 4 x 100 metres relay, and part of the Great Britain team that won gold in the 2017 World Championships in the same event. He was the first British Athlete to go sub-10s in the 100m and sub-20s in the 200m. A silver medalist in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 m relay in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Gemili is also a former World Junior champion at 100 m and European Under-23 champion at 100 m and 4 × 100 m relay. Achievements Gemili won a gold medal over 100 m at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Barcelona. Isaac Makwala
Isaac Makwala (born 24 September 1985) is a Botswana sprinter who specializes in the 400 metres. Career He was the gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games in 2018. He has also won continental titles at the distance, winning at the 2015 African Games and twice at the African Championships in Athletics (2012, 2014). He has represented his country Botswana at the 2016 Summer Olympics, three times at the Commonwealth Games, and five times at the World Championships in Athletics (2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017). __NOTOC__ Warren Weir (born October 1989) is a retired Jamaican sprinter, who specialized in the 200 metres. He was the bronze medallist in the event at the 2012 London Olympics, helping Jamaica sweep the medals. In 2013 at the Moscow World Championships, Warren Weir won the silver medal equalling his personal best. He finished behind Usain Bolt who set a World Leading time. His personal best is 19.79 seconds set at the National Stadium in his home country Kingston, Jamaica. He has since equalled his personal best in Moscow, in the World Championship final. Asha Solette Philip (born 25 October 1990) is an English Sprint (running), sprinter and former junior gymnast specialising in double mini-trampoline. She was the first British woman to achieve a global 100 metres title at any age-group, winning gold at the 2007 World Youth Championships in Athletics, 2007 World Youth Championships aged 16. Aleen May Bailey (born 25 November 1980) is a retired Jamaican track and field sprinter who competed in the 100 metres and 200 m. Career She competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal as a member of the 4 × 100 m relay team. Bailey trains in Columbia, South Carolina under Curtis Frye and is the sister of the reggae star Capleton. Geraldina "Dina" Rachel Asher-Smith, (; born 4 December 1995) is a British sprinter. She is the fastest British woman on record. She won a gold medal in the 200 metres, silver in the 100 metres and another silver in the 4×100 m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking her own British records with further records which still stand. Melissa Breen (born 17 September 1990) is an Australian 100 metres and 200 metres runner. Breen broke the Australian record for the women's 100 m sprint, when she clocked 11.11 seconds at the ACT Championships, held on 9 Feb 2014 at the Australian Institute of Sport track in Canberra under ideal conditions with a 1.9 mps following wind, warm conditions and 600+ metres elevation. Carrie Russell (born 18 October 1990) is a Jamaican track and field sprinter and bobsledder.
