2014 Chicago Sky Season
The 2014 WNBA season is the 9th season for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Coming off the franchise's first ever playoff appearance, the Sky looked to continue their success in the 2014 season. The Sky's offseason included trading Swin Cash to Atlanta, signing free agent forward Jessica Breland, center Sasha Goodlett, but also learning that center Sylvia Fowles would be missing some time due to Arthroscopic surgery of the hip to repair a torn Labrum and Impingement. Although the Sky finished the season with a 15–19 record, they placed 4th in the Eastern Conference and qualified for the playoffs. They defeated the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever in the playoffs and made it to the 2014 WNBA Finals, but lost the series in three games. Pokey Chatman
Dana "Pokey" Chatman (born June 18, 1969) is currently an assistant coach for the Seattle Storm in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Chatman is the former head coach of the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky of the WNBA. She is also the former head coach of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team and the Spartak Moscow women's basketball team. Chatman spent the first 20 years of her adult life at LSU as a player (1987–1991), student assistant (1991–1992), assistant coach (1992–2004) and head coach (2004–2007). After succeeding longtime coach Sue Gunter in 2004, Chatman led the Lady Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Final Fours in 2004 (as acting head coach for the ailing Gunter), 2005, and 2006. 2014 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2014 WNBA season is the 7th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. This is also the first season the Dream has finished first in the East. In the last game of the Eastern Semis, the Dream had a 16-point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter, but unfortunately gave the other team the lead and lost 81-80. Yvonne Turner (born October 13, 1987) is an American-Hungarian professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Sopron Basket of the EuroLeague Women, and the Hungarian women's basketball league. She previously played with the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team from 2006 to 2010. Turner played professionally outside of the U.S. as well, including time in Australia, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Spain, Turkey. Carolyn Swords (born July 19, 1989) is an American former basketball player. She previously played for PF Umbertide in Italy and the Sydney Uni Flames in Australia. Alexandria "Allie" Quigley (born June 20, 1986) is an American and Hungarian professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
