2014 Chennaiyin FC Season
The 2014 season was Chennaiyin FC's inaugural season in the first tournament of the newly formed Indian Super League. Preview Chennai city was one of the 9 cities that were selected for franchise bidding, when the ISL was founded in 2013. However, on 11 April 2014 it was reported that Chennai's main bidder, a consortium led by Sunil Gavaskar would drop out due to commitments with the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Later, Bangalore franchise was terminated after their owners dropped out following a dispute with the organizers. Initially reports came out that the ISL organizers were looking for bidders for new owners for the Bangalore franchise before it was revealed that Ronnie Screwvala and actor Abhishek Bachchan would together bid for a Chennai team instead of a Bangalore franchise. Chennaiyin FC
Chennaiyin Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was founded in August 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. One of the most successful clubs in the history of the league, it has won the Indian Super League title on two occasions, in the 2015 and 2017–18 seasons respectively. Gennaro Bracigliano (born 1 March 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Bracigliano was born in Forbach, Moselle. He started his career with Nancy, then he transferred to Marseille in 2011. On 13 March 2012, he came on as a substitute in his UEFA Champions League debut against Inter Milan in the stoppage time, after Steve Mandanda had been dismissed. Dane Loyd Pereira (born 1985) is an Indian football player. He played for Mumbai F.C. in the I-League and Chennaiyin FC in the ISL. Abhishek Das (born 15 November 1993) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a right back for Madan Maharaj.
