2014 Central Florida Knights Football Team
The 2014 UCF Knights football team represented the University of Central Florida in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Knights were members of the American Athletic Conference (The American), and played their home games at Bright House Networks Stadium on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida. The Knights were led by head coach George O'Leary, who was in his eleventh season with the team. The 2014 season was UCF's second as a member of The American. UCF set a program mark with its first undefeated home record since moving into Bright House Networks Stadium in 2007. On November 1, UConn snapped UCF's 11-game undefeated conference winning streak. The Knights were 8–0 in American Athletic Conference play in 2013, and won their first three conference games in 2014 to sit at 11–0 up to that point. George O'Leary
George Joseph O'Leary (born August 17, 1946) is a former American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 1994 to 2001 and the UCF Knights from 2004 to 2015. He was hired in 2001 to be the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish but resigned after five days for lying on his resume. O'Leary was an assistant coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2002 to 2004, and an assistant coach for the Syracuse Orange and San Diego Chargers. During his twelve-year tenure with the Knights, O'Leary guided the team to the fourth-best turnaround in NCAA history (2005), and led UCF to one of the biggest upsets of the BCS era in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl. Jordan Franks (born February 1, 1996) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at UCF Knights football, UCF. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. Franks won Super Bowl LVII as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. Terrance Plummer
Terrance Plummer (born June 20, 1993) is an American football linebacker for the Orlando Guardians of the XFL. He played college football at the University of Central Florida. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Redskins in 2015. Early years Plummer attended Orange Park High School in Orange Park, Florida, where he played football for coach Danny Green at all three linebacker positions including at the inside position as a senior. Breshad Perriman (born September 10, 1993) is an American football wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UCF and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and Chicago Bears. William Stanback
William Stanback (born July 6, 1994) is a gridiron football running back for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Virginia Union and UCF. He has also been a member of the Green Bay Packers and Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). College career Stanback began his college football career at UCF. Danny Barrett (born December 18, 1961) is an American football coach and former player who is the running backs coach for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He served as the interim head coach for the UCF Knights in 2015, and is a former Canadian Football League (CFL) quarterback. Brent Key
Donald Brent Key (born August 1, 1978) is an American college football coach and former player. Key is currently the head football coach at his alma mater, Georgia Tech. Playing career Key grew up in Trussville, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. He attended and played football at Hewitt-Trussville High School.
