2014 CFU Club Championship
The 2014 CFU Club Championship was the 16th edition of CFU Club Championship, the annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The top three teams in the tournament qualified for the 2014–15 CONCACAF Champions League. Teams The tournament was open to all champion and runners-up from each member association’s league, once their competition ended on or before the end of 2013. Registration for all interested clubs closed on December 31, 2013. CONCACAF broadened the possibilities for participation and further indicated that the competition was not limited to professional clubs only. Therefore, clubs with amateur status were also eligible for participation. A total of 13 teams from 9 CFU associations entered the competition. Participating teams A total of seven teams from five CFU associations took part in the competition. *Baltimore (Haiti) was supposed to take part and was drawn into Group 1, but withdrew before the competition started. *Inter Moengotapoe (Suriname) was supposed to take part and was drawn into Group 2, but withdrew before the competition started. National Premier League
The National Premier League, also known for sponsorship purposes as the Red Stripe Premier League, is sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation as the top division for men's association football in Jamaica. Contested between 12 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Jamaica's regional Super Leagues where the two lowest placed teams are relegated to their corresponding local second division league. Harbour View Football Club is a Jamaican football club based in Kingston that currently plays in the top flight Jamaica National Premier League. Alpha United Football Club is a Guyanese football club based in Providence. The club competes in the GFF Elite League, the top league of football in Guyana.
