2014 CAF Champions League Final
The 2014 CAF Champions League Final was the final of the 2014 CAF Champions League, the 50th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 18th edition under the current CAF Champions League format. The final was contested in two-legged home-and-away format between AS Vita Club of Democratic Republic of the Congo and ES Sétif of Algeria. The first leg was hosted by AS Vita Club at the Stade Tata Raphaël in Kinshasa on 26 October 2014, while the second leg was hosted by ES Sétif at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida on 1 November 2014. The winner earned the right to represent the CAF at the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, entering at the quarterfinal stage, as well as play in the 2015 CAF Super Cup against the winner of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup. The 2014 CAF Champions League (also known as the 2014 Orange CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 50th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 18th edition under the current CAF Champions League format. The two-time defending champions Al-Ahly were eliminated in the second round by Al-Ahly Benghazi. In the final, ES Sétif of Algeria defeated AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the away goals rule after drawing 3–3 on aggregate, to win their second title. They qualified for the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup, and earned the right to play in the 2015 CAF Super Cup. The CAF Champions League, known for sponsorship purposes as the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and formerly the African Cup of Champions Clubs, is an annual football club competition organized by the Confederation of African Football and contested by top-division African clubs, deciding the competition winners through a round robin group stage to qualify for a double-legged knockout stage, and then a single leg final. It is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in African football. The winner of the tournament earns a berth for the FIFA Club World Cup, a tournament contested between the champion clubs from all six continental confederations, and also faces the winner of the CAF Confederation Cup in the following season's CAF Super Cup.
