2014 Baia Mare Champions Trophy
The 2014 Baia Mare Champions Trophy was the first Baia Mare Champions Trophy. It was held in Baia Mare, Romania from 15 to 17 August as a pre-season international women's team handball tournament for clubs. Two-time EHF Champions League winner Krim and FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria appeared in the tournament, along with the hosts HCM Baia Mare and others. The tournament was aired on Digi Sport 2 and Digi Sport 3. HCM Baia Mare won the title by defeating FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria in the final. Eliza Iulia Buceschi (born 1 August 1993) is a Romanian handballer for Rapid București and the Romanian national team. Career Club She was the best scorer with 100 goals of the Liga Naţională's 2011–12 season until a surgery on a broken finger in her right hand, ruled her out for the rest of the season starting with the month of February. She ranked second in the 2012–2013 Cupa României's top goalscorers list. Piroska Szamoránsky (born 9 July 1986) is a Hungarian handball player. Career Club As a child she practiced aerobic, jazz ballet and rope skipping. She caught the fancy of handball around 1995, by watching matches in TV, and that time she determined to pursue a professional handball career. She started to play in the ''Balázs Béla ÁMK'' under Zoltán Basák, and when she began her highschool studies, she has already signed a contract with Győri ETO KC. Zsuzsanna Tomori (; born 18 June 1987) is a Hungarian handballer for Ferencvárosi TC and the Hungarian national team. Career Club Tomori started to play handball at the age of 12 and signed her first professional contract with Vasas SC in 2004. Considered one of the best players of her position in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, she moved to league champions Győri ETO KC in 2007. Paula-Claudia Ungureanu (née Rădulescu; born 30 March 1980) is a Romanian handballer who plays for Rapid București. She retired from the Romania national team in 2016. Ungureanu successfully replaced Luminița Dinu after her retirement.
