2014 Auto GP Season
The 2014 Auto GP Series was the fifth year of the Auto GP, and the fifteenth season of the former Euroseries 3000. The championship began on 13 April in Marrakech, Morocco and finished on 19 October at the Autódromo do Estoril, after eight double-header rounds. Despite missing two rounds during the season, Euronova Racing driver Kimiya Sato was crowned champion, after winning six races over the course of the season. Sato won the championship by 14 points over Tamás Pál Kiss, who was a three-time race winner during the 2014 season. Super Nova International's Markus Pommer completed the championship top three in third position, 27 points in arrears of Pál Kiss, having won races in Marrakech and Monza. Auto GP
Auto GP, sometimes referred to as the Auto GP World Series and formerly known as both Euro Formula 3000 and the Euroseries 3000, was a European formula racing series. The series' roots can be traced back to 1999 and the Italian Formula 3000 series, organised by Pierluigi Corbari, which used old Lola chassis with Zytek engines. The teams used the Lola T96/50 in the first two years. At the beginning nearly all races were held in Italy, but very quickly the series expanded and had venues in different European countries. The series became European Formula 3000 in 2001. The next three years (2001–2003) saw the Lola B99/50 in use. For 2004, Superfund became the series' title sponsor, planning to use a new car with a new set of regulations, named Formula Superfund, but the funding was pulled before the 2005 season got under way and the series was cancelled. Vittorio Ghirelli
Vittorio Ghirelli (born 9 May 1994 in Fasano) is an Italian racing driver that currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series for PK Carsport in the Elite 2 division and the smart EQ fortwo e-cup, where he is currently the series' defending champion. Ghirelli won the Auto GP championship in 2013 for Super Nova International. He also previously competed in series such as Italian Formula Three, GP3 Series, and Indy Lights. FIA WTCC Race Of Morocco
The FIA WTCR Race of Morocco (سباق المغرب) is a round of the World Touring Car Championship, held on the temporary Marrakech Street Circuit in the city of Marrakech in Morocco. The race was first run in May 2009 on a purpose-built track. It was the first international car race in Morocco since the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix at the Ain-Diab Circuit in Casablanca. It is also the only WTCC race to ever take place in Africa. The race was scheduled to be the season opener for the 2014 season for the first time, taking the place of the FIA WTCC Race of Italy. Moroccan driver Mehdi Bennani has taken the independents' victory twice when he finished ninth in both race one in 2009 and race two in 2012. Marrakech Street Circuit
The Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan (also known as Marrakech Street Circuit and Marrakech Racetrack) is a temporary street circuit in Agdal district, Marrakech, Morocco. The circuit is operated by MGP. It has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. History MGP’s partner in Morocco, D3 Motorsport Development, was given the responsibility of the design of the street circuit. It is the same architect company that designed the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit in Australia. Groupe Menara oversaw the construction on the Route de l'Ourika/Boulevard Mohammed based track. The paddock had been paved alongside the walls of the Royal Garden and more than 2,500 concrete impact blocks and many debris fence panels had been put in place to bound the track. Samin Gómez Briceno (born February 4, 1992 in Maracay) is a racing driver from Venezuela. She has raced in karting and several formulae. Career Karting Samin Gómez started racing at the age of seven, racing in the Panamerican Championship, a series supported by the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Niccolò Schirò (born 25 March 1994) is an Italian racing driver, who is best known for being the 2012 European F3 Open champion. Career Karting Born in Milan, Schirò began karting in 2007 and raced both in his native Italy and Europe for the majority of his karting career, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KF2 category a year later, when he finished 28th in the European KF2 Championship.
