The 2013–14 in English football, 2013–14 season was the 92nd season of competitive association football and 77th season in English Football League, the Football League played by York City F.C., York City Football Club, a professional football club based in York, North Yorkshire, England. Their 17th-place finish in 2012–13 Football League Two, 2012–13 meant it was their second consecutive season in EFL League Two, League Two. The season ran from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014. Nigel Worthington
Nigel Worthington (born 4 November 1961) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer who was most recently the manager of York City. He played a defender and a midfielder, playing his club football for Ballymena United, Notts County, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United, Stoke City and Blackpool. With Sheffield Wednesday he won the League Cup in 1991. As an international player, he was capped 66 times for Northern Ireland, and appeared for them at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Worthington began his managerial career as player-manager of Blackpool in 1997 before he took over as manager of Norwich City in 2000. He guided Norwich into the Premier League in the 2003–04 season as First Division title winners. He left just over two years afterwards, having failed to keep them in the top-flight in 2005. Wesleigh James Fletcher (born 28 February 1991) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Having come through the youth academies of Manchester United and Liverpool he was given his first professional contract by Burnley. He would make his professional debut for Grimsby Town and also played in the Football League for Stockport County, Accrington Stanley, Crewe Alexandra, Yeovil Town and York City. He also played in the Scottish Premiership for Motherwell and the Cymru Premier for The New Saints. He later played non-league football for Chorley and Lancaster City. Lanre Oyebanjo
Olanrewaju Olusegun Mark Bamidele "Lanre" Oyebanjo (born 27 April 1990) is a professional footballer who last played as a defender for club Welling United. He has played in the Football League for York City and Crawley Town. Oyebanjo started his career with West Ham United's youth system and after being released joined Waltham Forest in 2006. He spent one season with the Isthmian League Division One North club before joining League Two team Brentford in 2007. Having not made any first-team appearances for Brentford, Oyebanjo dropped into the Conference Premier with Histon in 2008. Benjamin Keith Davies (born 11 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or left-back for Scottish Premiership club Rangers. Davies spent most of his early career with Preston North End, and had loan spells with York City, Tranmere Rovers, Southport, Newport County and Fleetwood Town. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). Goal difference is calculated as the number of goals scored in all league matches minus the number of goals conceded, and is sometimes known simply as plus–minus. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
