2013–14 Toronto Maple Leafs Season
The 2013–14 Toronto Maple Leafs season was the 97th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on November 22, 1917. Due to a realignment that was approved on March 14, 2013, by the NHL's Board of Governors, the Maple Leafs played this season in the eight-team Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. For the first time since the 1997–98 season, they played every team in the league at least once both home and away. In fact, they played the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres five times each, every other team in their own division four times each, teams in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference three times each, and every team from the Western Conference twice. The Eastern Conference (french: Conférence de l'Est) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference, it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The Prince of Wales Trophy dates back to 1925, when it was donated to the League by the Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VIII and then the Duke of Windsor. Drew MacIntyre (born June 24, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. , he is a developmental goaltending coach and scout for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League. Playing career MacIntyre played his entire junior hockey career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Sherbrooke Beavers. Playing four seasons with Sherbrooke, from 1999–2000 to 2002–03, he recorded seven shutouts in 188 regular season games. Christopher Gibson (born 27 December 1992) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). Budweiser Gardens is a sports-entertainment centre, in London, Ontario, Canada – the largest such centre in Southwestern Ontario. Until 2012, it was known as the John Labatt Centre.
