2013–14 South China AA Season
The 2013–14 season is South China's 93rd season in the Hong Kong First Division League. South China will seek to defend their league title, as well as to fight for victory in Senior Challenge Shield and FA Cup. They will also participate in the AFC Cup for the first time in three seasons. Key events * 15 May 2013: The club confirmed that they will not extend Brazilian forward Alessandro Celin's contract while Joel, Dhiego Martins and Ticão will stay at the club. Itaparica, Chan Wai Ho, Lee Chi Ho and Lee Wai Lim have finished their contract and are uncertain about their future. * 16 May 2013: Hong Kong defender Chan Cham Hei and Brazilian forward Alessandro Celin are released by the club. * 31 May 2013: Brazilian midfielder João Emir Porto Pereira rejoins the club on a free transfer. South China Athletic Association (known simply as South China, SCAA, ) is a Hong Kong professional football club that competes in the Hong Kong First Division, the second-tier league in Hong Kong football league system. The club is historically one of the most successful football clubs in Hong Kong, having won a record 41 First Division titles, a record 31 Senior Shields, a record 10 FA Cups and 3 League Cups. The club has a very long history in playing in the top-tier league, but decided to self-relegate after the end of the 2016–17 season. Hong Kong First Division League
The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. Competition format Each team plays the other teams in the division twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. If there are two matches in the same stadium on the day, the profits are shared between the two home teams. The top two teams in the league are offered promotion to the Premier League while the bottom two are relegated to the Hong Kong Second Division. Lee Wai Lim
Lee Wai Lim (, born 5 May 1981) is a former Hong Kong professional football player and coach. He is the brother of current Lee Man player Lee Hong Lim. A former Hong Kong Footballer of the Year winner in 2009, Lee pleaded guilty in 2018 to one count each of accepting an advantage and conspiracy to defraud. He was sentenced to 180 hours of community service for his crimes. Club career Tai Po Lee joined Tai Po in the third division in 2003 after being discovered by Tai Po's secretary Chan Ping. Lee Chi Ho (, born 16 November 1982 in Hong Kong) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer. His usual position is right back while occasionally playing as a central defender as well. Chan Wai Ho (born ) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer and current amateur player for Hong Kong First Division club Eastern District.
