2013–14 Lega Basket Serie A
The 2013–14 Lega Basket Serie A was the 92nd season of the Lega Basket Serie A. The regular season ran from October 13, 2013 to May 11, 2014 and consisted of 30 games. The top 8 teams made the play-offs, the lowest ranked team, Sutor Montegranaro, were relegated to Serie A2 Gold. EA7 Emporio Armani won its 26th championship and their first national title since 1996, ending Montepaschi Siena's streak of Serie A titles at seven. Arena standards Starting from the 2013-14 season all clubs must play in arenas that seat at least 5,000 people. However 8 teams that did not have arenas of that size were allowed for this season to play in their old arenas with improvements. The 2012–13 Lega Basket Serie A was the 91st season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the top level basketball league in Italy. The season started 26 September 2012 and ended on 19 June 2013. Montepaschi Siena initially won the championship. However, their championship was revoked in 2016 after investigations exposed financial and fiscal fraud. PalaPentassuglia, or PalaElio, is an indoor arena that is located in Brindisi, Italy. The arena's full name is Palazzetto dello Sport "Elio Pentassuglia". The arena is named in honor or of the Italian basketball player and basketball coach Elio Pentassuglia. The arena has mainly been used to host volleyball, basketball, boxing, fencing, and gymnastics. The current capacity of the arena for basketball games is 3,534. History The arena opened in 1981, originally having a capacity of 2,390. Palasport Roberta Serradimigni, commonly known as PalaSerradimigni, is a multi-use indoor sporting arena that is located in Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. The arena can be used to host basketball, volleyball, and handball games. The current seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,000. History PalaSerradimigni was officially opened in 1981. The arena originally had a seating capacity of 2,500. In 1992, the seating capacity of the arena was increased to 4,532.
