2013–14 FC Bayern Munich Season
The 2013–14 FC Bayern Munich season was the 115th season in the club's history and the 49th consecutive season in the top flight of German football, the Bundesliga, since their promotion from the Regionalliga Süd in 1965. Bayern participated in this season's editions of the DFB-Pokal, DFL-Supercup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. Pep Guardiola became the new head coach. Bayern signed Jan Kirchhoff, Mario Götze and Thiago. Mitchell Weiser returned from his loan spell. Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Maximilian Riedmüller, Dale Jennings, Mario Gómez, Luiz Gustavo and Emre Can left Bayern. Nils Petersen made his loan spell permanent. Pre-season started on 26 June. The 2013 FIFA Club World Cup (officially known as the FIFA Club World Cup Morocco 2013 presented by Toyota for sponsorship reasons) was the 10th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, a FIFA-organised international club football tournament between the winners of the six continental confederations as well as the host nation's league champions. It was hosted by Morocco, and played from 11 to 21 December 2013. Defending champions Corinthians did not qualify as they were eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2013 Copa Libertadores. Anatoliy Oleksandrovych Tymoshchuk ( uk, Анатолій Олександрович Тимощук ; born 30 March 1979) is a Ukrainian football coach and a former midfielder, currently an assistant coach of the Russian Premier League club Zenit Saint Petersburg (since 2017). Tymoshchuk is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of Shakhtar Donetsk and Zenit Saint Petersburg, and is also a former captain of the Ukraine national team. Mitchell-Elijah Weiser (; born 21 April 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a right back for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Club career Early career The son of former German footballer Patrick Weiser, Weiser spent his early childhood in Braunschweig, where he played for the youth teams of amateur club TV Eintracht Veltenhof. 1. Mario Götze (born 3 June 1992) is a German professional footballer who plays for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and the Germany national team. Although his favoured position is that of a playmaker, Götze has also played as a false nine or as an emergency striker. Jan Tilman Kirchhoff (born 1 October 1990) is a German former professional footballer who played as a centre-back or defensive midfielder. Club career Mainz 05 Born in Frankfurt, West Germany, Kirchhoff began his football career at SpVgg Kickers 16 Frankfurt before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in 1999.
